⁶ For the Lord watches over^(A) the way of the righteous,
    but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.^(B)

⁹ The Lord detests the way of the wicked,^(A)
    but he loves those who pursue righteousness.^(B)

⁷ The Lord is good,^(A)
    a refuge in times of trouble.^(B)
He cares for^(C) those who trust in him,^(D)

¹⁸ The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care,^(A)
    and their inheritance will endure forever.^(B)
19 In times of disaster they will not wither;
    in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

²⁰ But the wicked will perish:^(C)
    Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field,
    they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.^(D)

²¹ The wicked borrow and do not repay,
    but the righteous give generously;^(E)
22 those the Lord blesses will inherit the land,
    but those he curses^(F) will be destroyed.^(G)

²³ The Lord makes firm the steps^(H)
    of the one who delights^(I) in him;
²⁴ though he may stumble, he will not fall,^(J)
    for the Lord upholds^(K) him with his hand.

⁹ The Lord watches over the foreigner^(A)
    and sustains the fatherless^(B) and the widow,^(C)
    but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

¹² There is a way that appears to be right,^(A)
    but in the end it leads to death.^(B)
