The vessels of his temple have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have been drinking wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, but the God in whose power is your very breath and to whom belong all your ways, you have not honored.(D)
24 “So from his presence the hand was sent and this writing was inscribed.(E) 25 And this is the writing that was inscribed: mene,[a] tekel, and parsin. 26 This is the interpretation of the matter: mene: God has numbered the days of[b] your kingdom and brought it to an end;(F) 27 tekel: you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting;(G) 28 peres:[c] your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”

so I have gathered all the earth,
and there was none that moved a wing
or opened its mouth or chirped.”(G)
15 Shall the ax vaunt itself over the one who wields it
or the saw magnify itself against the one who handles it?
As if a rod should raise the one who lifts it up,
or as if a staff should lift the one who is not wood!(H)
16 Therefore the Sovereign, the Lord of hosts,
will send wasting sickness among his stout warriors,
and under his glory a burning will be kindled
like the burning of fire.(I)

16 Therefore, the Lord, the Lord Almighty,
will send a wasting disease(Z) upon his sturdy warriors;(AA)
under his pomp(AB) a fire(AC) will be kindled
like a blazing flame.
