23 (A)Israel also came into Egypt;
So Jacob (B)lived in the land of Ham.
24 And He (C)made His people very fruitful,
And made them stronger than their enemies.

25 He (D)turned their heart to hate His people,
To (E)deal cunningly with His servants.
26 He (F)sent His servant Moses,
And (G)Aaron, whom He had chosen.
27 They [a](H)performed His wondrous acts among them,
And miracles in the land of Ham.
28 He (I)sent darkness and made it dark;
And they did not (J)rebel against His words.
29 He (K)turned their waters into blood,
And caused their fish to die.
30 Their land swarmed with (L)frogs
Even in the (M)chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and a (N)swarm of flies
And (O)gnats invaded all their territory.
32 He [b]gave them (P)hail for rain,
And flaming fire in their land.
33 He also (Q)struck their vines and their fig trees,
And smashed the trees of their territory.
34 He spoke, and (R)locusts came,
And creeping locusts, beyond number,
35 And they ate all the vegetation in their land,
And ate the fruit of their ground.
36 He also (S)fatally struck all the firstborn in their land,
The (T)first fruits of all their vigor.

37 Then He brought [c]the Israelites out with (U)silver and gold,
And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (V)glad when they departed,
For the (W)dread of them had fallen upon [d]the Egyptians.
39 He spread out a (X)cloud as a [e]covering,
And (Y)fire to illumine by night.
40 [f]They (Z)asked, and He brought (AA)quail,
And satisfied them with the [g](AB)bread of heaven.
41 He opened the [h]rock and (AC)water flowed out;
[i]It ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He (AD)remembered His holy word
With His servant Abraham;
43 And He led out His people with joy,
His chosen ones with a joyful (AE)shout.
44 He also (AF)gave them the lands of the [j]nations,
So that they (AG)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
45 And that they might (AH)keep His statutes
And comply with His laws;
[k]Praise [l]the Lord!

23 Then Israel entered Egypt;(A)
    Jacob resided(B) as a foreigner in the land of Ham.(C)
24 The Lord made his people very fruitful;
    he made them too numerous(D) for their foes,
25 whose hearts he turned(E) to hate his people,
    to conspire(F) against his servants.
26 He sent Moses(G) his servant,
    and Aaron,(H) whom he had chosen.(I)
27 They performed(J) his signs(K) among them,
    his wonders(L) in the land of Ham.
28 He sent darkness(M) and made the land dark—
    for had they not rebelled against(N) his words?
29 He turned their waters into blood,(O)
    causing their fish to die.(P)
30 Their land teemed with frogs,(Q)
    which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers.
31 He spoke,(R) and there came swarms of flies,(S)
    and gnats(T) throughout their country.
32 He turned their rain into hail,(U)
    with lightning throughout their land;
33 he struck down their vines(V) and fig trees(W)
    and shattered the trees of their country.
34 He spoke,(X) and the locusts came,(Y)
    grasshoppers(Z) without number;(AA)
35 they ate up every green thing in their land,
    ate up the produce of their soil.
36 Then he struck down all the firstborn(AB) in their land,
    the firstfruits of all their manhood.
37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold,(AC)
    and from among their tribes no one faltered.
38 Egypt was glad when they left,
    because dread of Israel(AD) had fallen on them.

39 He spread out a cloud(AE) as a covering,
    and a fire to give light at night.(AF)
40 They asked,(AG) and he brought them quail;(AH)
    he fed them well with the bread of heaven.(AI)
41 He opened the rock,(AJ) and water gushed out;
    it flowed like a river in the desert.

42 For he remembered his holy promise(AK)
    given to his servant Abraham.
43 He brought out his people with rejoicing,(AL)
    his chosen ones with shouts of joy;
44 he gave them the lands of the nations,(AM)
    and they fell heir to what others had toiled(AN) for—
45 that they might keep his precepts
    and observe his laws.(AO)

Praise the Lord.[a](AP)
