¹² “I, wisdom, ^(A)dwell with prudence,
And I find ^(B)knowledge and discretion.
¹³ The ^(C)fear of Yahweh is to hate evil;
^(D)Pride and arrogance and ^(E)the evil way
And the mouth of ^[a](F)perverted words, I hate.
^14 (G)Counsel is mine and ^(H)sound wisdom;
I am understanding, ^(I)might is mine.
¹⁵ By me ^(J)kings reign,
And rulers mark out righteousness.
¹⁶ By me princes rule, and nobles,
All who judge rightly.
¹⁷ I ^(K)love those who love me;
And ^(L)those who earnestly seek me will find me.
^18 (M)Riches and glory are with me,
Enduring ^(N)wealth and righteousness.
¹⁹ My fruit is ^(O)better than fine gold, even pure gold,
And my produce better than ^(P)choice silver.
²⁰ I walk in the path of righteousness,
In the midst of the pathways of justice,
²¹ To give those who love me an inheritance of wealth,
That I may ^(Q)fill their treasuries.

²⁴ There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more,
And there is one who holds back what is rightly due, and yet results only in want.
²⁵ The soul ^[a]that ^(A)blesses will be ^[b]enriched,
And he who ^(B)waters will himself be watered.

²⁸ He who ^(A)trusts in his riches will fall,
But ^(B)the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

¹¹ He ^(A)who cultivates his land will be satisfied with bread,
But he who pursues empty things lacks a heart of wisdom.

¹⁴ A man will be ^(A)satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth,
And the good ^(B)deed of a man’s hands will return to him.

²⁷ A slack handed man does not ^[a]roast his prey,
But the wealth of a man is ^(A)precious for the diligent.

⁴ The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
But the soul of the diligent is enriched.
