18 An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends
    and against all sound judgment starts quarrels.

Fools find no pleasure in understanding
    but delight in airing their own opinions.(A)

    but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.

It is not good to be partial to the wicked(C)

The mouths of fools are their undoing,

The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
    they go down to the inmost parts.(H)

One who is slack in his work
    is brother to one who destroys.(I)

10 The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;(J)
    the righteous run to it and are safe.(K)

11 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city;(L)
    they imagine it a wall too high to scale.

12 Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
    but humility comes before honor.(M)

13 To answer before listening—
    that is folly and shame.(N)

14 The human spirit can endure in sickness,
    but a crushed spirit who can bear?(O)

15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,(P)
    for the ears of the wise seek it out.

16 A gift(Q) opens the way
    and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.

17 In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right,
    until someone comes forward and cross-examines.

    and keeps strong opponents apart.

    disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.

20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;

18 Ang tawo nga gusto lang permi mag-isahanon nagahunahuna lang sang iya kaugalingon, kag ginakontra niya ang husto nga ginaisip sang iban.

Ang buang-buang nga tawo wala gid sing handom nga makatuon; ang iya lang gusto amo ang pagpahayag sang iya kaugalingon nga opinyon.

Ang paghimo sang malain kag makahuluya nga butang makahatag sang kahuy-anan.

Ang pulong sang maalamon nga tawo makahatag sang kaalam sa iban; pareho ini sa nagailig nga tubig nga halin sa madalom nga tuburan.

Indi maayo ang pag-apin sa nakasala kag ang indi paghatag sang hustisya sa wala sing sala.

Ang mga ginahambal sang buang-buang nga tawo makapaumpisa sang inaway kag makahatag sa iya sang kasakitan.

Ang mga ginahambal sang buang-buang nga tawo makahalit sa iya mismo.

Ang kutsokutso daw pareho sa pagkaon nga namit usapon kag tunlon.

Ang matamad nga tawo pareho lang kalain sa tawo nga gusto magpanglaglag.

10 Ang Ginoo pareho sa mabakod nga tore, kag sa iya nagadangop ang mga matarong agod indi sila maano.

11 Nagahunahuna ang mga manggaranon nga ang ila manggad makaprotektar sa ila pareho sa mataas nga mga pader nga nagapalibot sa siyudad.

12 Ang pagpabugal sang tawo makalaglag sa iya, pero ang pagpaubos makapadungog sa iya.

13 Balingag kag makahuluya ang tawo nga nagasabat nga wala anay nagapamati.

14 Ang determinasyon sang tawo nga mabuhi makapabakod sa iya kon nagamasakit siya, pero kon madula ini wala na sing may makabulig pa sa iya.

15 Ang tawo nga maalamon kag may pag-intiendi nagatinguha pa gid nga madugangan ang iya kaalam.

16 Madali ka nga makapakigkita sa isa ka dungganon nga tawo kon may dala ka nga regalo para sa iya.

17 Ang una nga magpamatuod sa korte daw amo na ang husto, hasta nga ang iya kontra naman ang mag-usisa sa iya.

18 Ang paggabot-gabot makapauntat sang binaisay, kag makahusay sang kaso sang duha ka gamhanan nga tawo.

19 Mabudlayan ka nga magpasag-uli sa imo utod[a] nga naglain ang iya buot sa imo. Daw mas mabudlay pa ini himuon sang sa magsalakay sa napaderan nga siyudad.

Subong nga mabudlay gub-on ang mga trangka sang puwertahan sang palasyo, mabudlay man untaton ang pag-inaway sang duha ka tawo.

20 Pagaanihon mo ang bunga sang imo mga ginahambal.[b]

21 Ang imo mga ginahambal makaluwas sang kabuhi ukon makapatay. Gani kon palahambal ka, magbantay ka kay pagaanihon mo ang bunga sang imo mga ginahambal.

22 Kon nakapangasawa ka, nakabaton ka sing maayo nga butang, kag nagapakita ina nga maayo ang Ginoo sa imo.

23 Nagapakitluoy ang imol, pero nagasabat sing matigdas ang manggaranon.

24 May pag-abyanay nga wala nagadugay, pero may pag-abyanay man nga mas mahirop pa sang sa mag-ulutod.
