¹⁸נָחֲל֣וּ פְתָאיִ֣ם אִוֶּ֑לֶת וַֽ֝עֲרוּמִ֗ים יַכְתִּ֥רוּ דָֽעַת׃

¹⁹שַׁח֣וּ רָ֭עִים לִפְנֵ֣י טוֹבִ֑ים וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים עַֽל־שַׁעֲרֵ֥י צַדִּֽיק׃

²⁰גַּם־לְ֭רֵעֵהוּ יִשָּׂ֣נֵא רָ֑שׁ וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י עָשִׁ֣יר רַבִּֽים׃

²¹בָּז־לְרֵעֵ֥הוּ חוֹטֵ֑א וּמְחוֹנֵ֖ן ׳עֲנָיִים׳ ״עֲנָוִ֣ים״ אַשְׁרָֽיו׃

²²הֲ‍ֽלוֹא־יִ֭תְעוּ חֹ֣רְשֵׁי רָ֑ע וְחֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת חֹ֣רְשֵׁי טֽוֹב׃

²³בְּכָל־עֶ֭צֶב יִהְיֶ֣ה מוֹתָ֑ר וּדְבַר־שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃

²⁴עֲטֶ֣רֶת חֲכָמִ֣ים עָשְׁרָ֑ם אִוֶּ֖לֶת כְּסִילִ֣ים אִוֶּֽלֶת׃

Proverbs 14:18-24

Young's Literal Translation

¹⁸The simple have inherited folly, And the prudent are crowned [with] knowledge.

¹⁹The evil have bowed down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

²⁰Even of his neighbour is the poor hated, And those loving the rich [are] many.

²¹Whoso is despising his neighbour sinneth, Whoso is favouring the humble, O his happiness.

²²Do not they err who are devising evil? And kindness and truth [are] to those devising good,

²³In all labour there is advantage, And a thing of the lips [is] only to want.

²⁴The crown of the wise is their wealth, The folly of fools [is] folly.

¹⁸The naive inherit foolishness,
But the sensible are crowned with knowledge.
¹⁹The ^(A)evil will bow down before the good,
And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
²⁰The ^(B)poor is hated even by his neighbor,
But those who love the rich are many.
²¹One who ^(C)despises his neighbor sins,
But ^(D)one who is gracious to the ^[a]poor is blessed.
²²Will they who ^(E)devise evil not go astray?
But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.
²³In all labor there is profit,
But ^[b]mere talk leads only to poverty.
²⁴The ^(F)crown of the wise is their riches,
But the foolishness of fools is simply foolishness.
