¹⁰ Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.

¹¹ The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

¹² She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

¹³ She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

¹⁴ She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

¹⁵ She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household and a portion to her maidens.

¹⁶ She considereth a field and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

¹⁷ She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

¹⁸ She perceiveth that her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.

¹⁹ She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

²⁰ She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

²¹ She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

²² She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

²³ Her husband is known at the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

²⁴ She maketh fine linen and selleth it, and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

²⁵ Strength and honor are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come.

²⁶ She openeth her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.

²⁷ She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

²⁸ Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her:

²⁹ “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”

³⁰ Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who feareth the Lord, she shall be praised!

³¹ Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her at the gates.

²⁷ Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

²⁸ And God hath set some in the church: first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracle workers, then those with gifts of healing, helpers, administrators, and those with diversity of tongues.

²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?

³⁰ Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

³¹ But covet earnestly the best gifts, and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.

² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so that I could remove mountains, but have not charity, I am nothing.

³ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

⁴ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up;

⁵ doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

⁶ rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

⁷ beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

⁸ Charity never faileth. But whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

¹⁰ But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

¹² For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then shall I know, even as also I am known.

¹³ And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
