⁶You might call many people your “friends,” but it is hard to find someone who can really be trusted.

⁷When people live good, honest lives, their children are blessed.

⁵The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters,^(A)
but one who has insight draws them out.

⁶Many claim to have unfailing love,
but a faithful person who can find?^(B)

⁷The righteous lead blameless lives;^(C)
blessed are their children after them.^(D)

⁵Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
