¹³ And now, because you have done all these works,” declares Yahweh, “and I spoke to you, ^(A)rising up early and ^(B)speaking, but you did not hear, and I ^(C)called you but you did not answer,

²⁶ Yet they did not listen to Me or incline their ear, but ^(A)stiffened their neck; they ^(B)did more evil than their fathers.

²⁷ “You shall ^(C)speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; and you shall call to them, but they will ^(D)not answer you.

⁵ to listen to the words of ^(A)My slaves the prophets, whom I have been sending to you, rising up early and sending, but you have not listened,

^34 (A)O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, ^(B)just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you did not want it! ³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate, and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘^(C)Blessed is He who comes in the name of the ^[a]Lord!’”

²¹ But as for Israel He says, “^(A)All day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.”
