2 ¶ Hijo mío, si tomares mis palabras, y mis mandamientos guardares dentro de ti,
2 haciendo estar atento tu oído a la sabiduría; si inclinares tu corazón a la inteligencia;
3 si clamares por entendimiento, y a la inteligencia dieres tu voz;
4 si como a la plata la buscares, y la escudriñares como a tesoros;
5 entonces entenderás el temor del SEÑOR, y hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.
6 Porque el SEÑOR da la sabiduría, y de su boca viene el conocimiento y la inteligencia.
7 El guarda el ser a los rectos; es escudo a los que caminan perfectamente,
8 guardando las veredas del juicio, y el camino de sus misericordiosos.
9 Entonces entenderás justicia, juicio, y equidad, y todo buen camino.
10 ¶ Cuando la sabiduría entrare en tu corazón, y la ciencia fuere dulce a tu alma,
11 el consejo te guardará, te preservará la inteligencia,
12 para librarte del mal camino, del hombre que habla perversidades;
13 que dejan las veredas derechas, por andar por caminos tenebrosos;
14 que se alegran haciendo mal, que se huelgan en malas perversidades;
15 cuyas veredas son torcidas, y ellos torcidos en sus caminos.
16 Para librarte de la mujer extraña, de la ajena que halaga con sus palabras;
17 que desampara el príncipe de su juventud, y se olvida del pacto de su Dios.
18 Por lo cual su casa está inclinada a la muerte, y sus veredas van hacia los muertos.
19 Todos los que a ella entraren, no volverán, ni tomarán las veredas de la vida.
20 Para que andes por el camino de los buenos, y guardes las veredas de los justos.
21 Porque los rectos habitarán la tierra, y los perfectos permanecerán en ella;
22 mas los impíos serán cortados de la tierra, y los prevaricadores serán de ella desarraigados.

Ventajas de la sabiduría
2 Hijo mío, si haces tuyas mis palabras
y atesoras mis mandamientos;
2 si tu oído inclinas hacia la sabiduría
y de corazón te entregas a la inteligencia;
3 si la llamas y pides entendimiento;
4 si la buscas como a la plata,
como a un tesoro escondido,
5 entonces comprenderás el temor del Señor
y hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.
6 Porque el Señor da la sabiduría;
conocimiento e inteligencia brotan de sus labios.
7 Él reserva el éxito para los íntegros
y es escudo a los de conducta intachable.
8 Él cuida el sendero de los justos
y protege el camino de sus fieles.
9 Entonces comprenderás la justicia y el derecho,
la equidad y todo buen camino;
10 la sabiduría vendrá a tu corazón
y el conocimiento te endulzará la vida.
11 La discreción te cuidará;
la inteligencia te protegerá.
12 La sabiduría te librará del camino de los malvados,
de los que dicen palabras perversas,
13 de los que se apartan del camino recto
para andar por sendas tenebrosas,
14 de los que se complacen en hacer lo malo
y festejan la perversidad,
15 de los que andan por caminos torcidos
y por sendas extraviadas;
16 te librará de la mujer ajena,
de la extraña de palabras seductoras
17 que, olvidándose de su pacto con Dios,
abandona al compañero de su juventud.
18 Ciertamente su casa conduce a la muerte;
sus sendas van hacia los muertos.
19 El que se enreda con ella no vuelve jamás
ni alcanza los senderos de la vida.
20 Así andarás por el camino de los buenos
y seguirás la senda de los justos.
21 Pues los íntegros habitarán en la tierra
y los rectos permanecerán en ella.
22 Pero los malvados serán desarraigados
y los infieles expulsados de la tierra.

Listen to Wisdom
2 My son, pay attention to what I say. Remember my commands. 2 Listen to wisdom, and do your best to understand. 3 Ask for good judgment. Cry out for understanding. 4 Look for wisdom like silver. Search for it like hidden treasure. 5 If you do this, you will understand what it means to respect the Lord, and you will come to know God.
6 The Lord is the source of wisdom; knowledge and understanding come from his mouth. 7 He gives good advice to honest people and shields those who do what is right. 8 He makes sure that people are treated fairly. He watches over his loyal followers.
9 If you listen to him, you will understand what is just and fair and how to do what is right. 10 You will gain wisdom, and knowledge will bring you joy.
11 Planning ahead will protect you, and understanding will guard you. 12 These will keep you from following the wrong path and will protect you from those who have evil plans. 13 Such people have left the straight path and now walk in darkness. 14 They enjoy doing evil and are happy with the confusion it brings. 15 Their ways are crooked; they lie and cheat.
16 Wisdom will save you from that other woman, another man’s wife, who tempts you with sweet words. 17 She married when she was young, but then she left her husband. She forgot the marriage vows she made before God. 18 Going into her house leads to death. She will lead you to the grave. 19 All who enter lose their life and never return.
20 Wisdom will help you follow the example of good people and stay on the right path. 21 Honest people will live in the land, and those who do right will remain there. 22 But the wicked will be forced to leave. Those who lie and cheat will be thrown out of the land.

Moral Benefits of Wisdom
2 My son,(A) if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding(B)—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight(C)
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,(D)
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.(E)
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;(F)
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.(G)
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield(H) to those whose walk is blameless,(I)
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.(J)
9 Then you will understand(K) what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,(L)
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.(M)
12 Wisdom will save(N) you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,
13 who have left the straight paths
to walk in dark ways,(O)
14 who delight in doing wrong

16 Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman,(S)
from the wayward woman with her seductive words,
17 who has left the partner of her youth
