Не се съблазнявай
7 (A)Сине мой, пази думите ми
и запазвай заповедите ми у себе си.
2 (B)Пази заповедите ми и ще живееш –
и поуката ми, като зениците на очите си.
3 (C)Завържи ги за пръстите си,
напиши ги на плочата на сърцето си.
4 Кажи на мъдростта: Сестра си ми;
и наречи разума роднина,
5 (D)за да те пазят от чужда жена,
от чужда жена, която ласкае с думите си.
6 Понеже, като поглеждах през решетките
на прозореца на къщата си,
7 (E)видях сред безумните,
забелязах между младежите
един млад, безумен човек,
8 който минаваше по улицата близо до ъгъла ѝ
и отиваше по пътя към къщата ѝ.
9 (F)Беше в дрезгавината, когато се свечери,
в мрака на нощта и в тъмнината.
10 И го посрещна жена,
облечена като блудница и с хитро сърце
11 (G)(бъбрива и упорита –
краката ѝ не остават в къщи;
12 кога по улиците, кога по площадите,
тя причаква при всеки ъгъл);
13 като го хвана, целуна го
и с безсрамно лице му каза:
14 Като бях задължена да принеса мирни жертви,
днес изпълних оброците си,
15 затова излязох да те посрещна
с желание да видя лицето ти и те намерих.
16 (H)Постлала съм легло с красиви покривки,
с шарени платове от египетска прежда.
17 Покадила съм леглото си
със смирна, алое и канела.
18 Ела, нека се наситим с любов до зори,
нека се насладим с милувки.
19 Защото мъжът ми не е у дома.
Замина на дълъг път;
20 взе кесия с пари в ръката си,
чак на пълнолуние ще се върне у дома.
21 (I)С многото си придумки тя го прилъга,
привлече го с ласкателството на устните си.
22 Изведнъж той тръгна след нея,
както отива говедо на клане
или както безумен в окови за наказание,
23 (J)докато стрела прониза дроба му –
както птица бърза към примката,
без да знае, че това е против живота ѝ.
24 И така, сега, синове, послушайте ме.
И внимавайте в думите на устата ми.
25 Да не се уклонява сърцето ти в пътищата ѝ,
не се заблуждавай в пътеките ѝ;
26 (K)защото мнозина е направила да паднат ранени;
и силни са всичките убити от нея.
27 (L)Домът ѝ е път към ада
и води надолу в клетките на смъртта.

Une opération de séduction
7 Mon fils, retiens mes paroles et
imprègne-toi de mes préceptes.
2 Suis mes préceptes et tu vivras,
garde mes enseignements comme la prunelle de tes yeux.
3 Porte-les comme un anneau à ton doigt,
grave-les sur les tablettes de ton cœur.
4 Dis à la sagesse : « Tu es ma sœur[a] »,
et considère l’intelligence comme ta parente,
5 pour qu’elles te préservent de la femme d’autrui,
de l’inconnue aux paroles enjôleuses.
6 Un jour, je regardais à travers le treillis de ma fenêtre[b],
7 et je vis un de ces jeunes sans expérience,
j’observai un jeune homme écervelé.
8 Il passait dans la rue près du coin où se tenait l’une de ces femmes,
se dirigeant vers sa maison.
9 C’était au crépuscule, le jour baissait,
et l’obscurité de la nuit commençait à se répandre.
10 Or, voici que cette femme vint à sa rencontre,
habillée comme une prostituée et l’esprit plein de ruse.
11 Elle parlait fort, impertinente,
elle ne tenait pas en place chez elle.
12 Tantôt dans la rue, tantôt sur les places,
elle faisait le guet à tous les carrefours.
13 Elle attrapa le jeune homme, l’embrassa
et, l’air effronté, elle lui dit :
14 « J’avais à faire un sacrifice de reconnaissance,
je viens, aujourd’hui même, de m’acquitter de mes vœux[c].
15 Voilà pourquoi je suis sortie à ta rencontre,
je cherchais à te voir, et je t’ai trouvé.
16 J’ai garni mon lit de couvertures
et d’étoffe brodée en fils d’Egypte[d].
17 J’ai parfumé mon lit
de myrrhe, d’aloès et de cinnamome.
18 Viens, grisons-nous d’amour jusqu’au matin,
livrons-nous aux délices de la volupté,
19 car mon mari n’est pas à la maison :
il est parti pour un voyage au loin.
20 Il a emporté une bourse pleine d’argent,
il ne rentrera qu’à la pleine lune. »
21 A force d’artifices, elle le fit fléchir ;
par ses propos enjôleurs, elle l’entraîna.
22 Alors il se mit soudain à la suivre
comme un bœuf qui va à l’abattoir,
comme un fou qu’on lie pour le châtier,
23 jusqu’à ce qu’une flèche lui transperce le foie,
comme un oiseau qui se précipite dans le filet
sans se douter qu’il y va de sa vie.
24 Et maintenant, mes fils, écoutez-moi !
Prêtez attention à mes paroles !
25 Que votre cœur ne se laisse pas entraîner par une telle femme !
Ne vous égarez pas dans ses sentiers,
26 car nombreuses sont ses victimes blessées à mort,
et ceux qu’elle a fait périr comptent parmi les plus robustes.
27 Sa maison est le chemin du séjour des morts
qui mène directement aux demeures de la mort.

- 7.14 Une partie de la viande du sacrifice était mangée par l’offrant et sa famille (Lv 7.12-15), le premier et le second jour (Lv 7.15-16). Le jeune homme est invité à ce repas.

Warning Against the Adulterous Woman
7 My son,(A) keep my words
and store up my commands within you.
2 Keep my commands and you will live;(B)
guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers;
write them on the tablet of your heart.(C)
4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
and to insight, “You are my relative.”
5 They will keep you from the adulterous woman,
from the wayward woman with her seductive words.(D)
6 At the window of my house
I looked down through the lattice.
7 I saw among the simple,
I noticed among the young men,
a youth who had no sense.(E)
8 He was going down the street near her corner,
walking along in the direction of her house
9 at twilight,(F) as the day was fading,
as the dark of night set in.
10 Then out came a woman to meet him,
dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
11 (She is unruly(G) and defiant,
her feet never stay at home;
12 now in the street, now in the squares,
at every corner she lurks.)(H)
13 She took hold of him(I) and kissed him
and with a brazen face she said:(J)
14 “Today I fulfilled my vows,
and I have food from my fellowship offering(K) at home.
15 So I came out to meet you;
I looked for you and have found you!
16 I have covered my bed
with colored linens from Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed(L)
with myrrh,(M) aloes and cinnamon.
18 Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning;
let’s enjoy ourselves with love!(N)
19 My husband is not at home;
he has gone on a long journey.
20 He took his purse filled with money
and will not be home till full moon.”
21 With persuasive words she led him astray;
she seduced him with her smooth talk.(O)
22 All at once he followed her
like an ox going to the slaughter,
like a deer[a] stepping into a noose[b](P)
23 till an arrow pierces(Q) his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
little knowing it will cost him his life.(R)

5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
