Proverbs 6:16-19
English Standard Version
16 There are (A)six things that the Lord hates,
(B)seven that are an abomination to him:
17 (C)haughty eyes, (D)a lying tongue,
and (E)hands that shed innocent blood,
18 (F)a heart that devises wicked plans,
(G)feet that make haste to run to evil,
19 (H)a false witness who (I)breathes out lies,
and one who (J)sows discord among brothers.
Jeremiah 12:6

(B)even they have dealt treacherously with you;
they are in full cry after you;
(C)do not believe them,
though they speak friendly words to you.”

Jeremiah 9:2-8
English Standard Version
2 [a] Oh that I had in the desert
a travelers' lodging place,
that I might leave my people
and go away from them!
For they are all (A)adulterers,
a company of (B)treacherous men.
3 (C)They bend their tongue like a bow;
falsehood and not truth has grown strong[b] in the land;
for they proceed from evil to evil,
(D)and they do not know me, declares the Lord.
4 (E)Let everyone beware of his neighbor,
and put no trust in any brother,
for every (F)brother is a deceiver,
and every neighbor (G)goes about as a slanderer.
5 Everyone deceives his neighbor,
and no one speaks the truth;
they have taught their tongue to speak lies;
they weary themselves committing iniquity.
6 Heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit,
(H)they refuse to know me, declares the Lord.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts:
“Behold, (I)I will refine them and (J)test them,
for what else can I do, (K)because of my people?
8 (L)Their tongue is a deadly arrow;
(M)it speaks deceitfully;
with his mouth (N)each speaks peace to his neighbor,
but in his heart (O)he plans an ambush for him.
