²⁹ Then Belshazzar gave the command, and Daniel was clothed in purple, a chain of gold was put around his neck, and a proclamation was made concerning him that he should rank third in the kingdom.

⁴² Removing his signet ring from his hand, Pharaoh put it on Joseph’s hand; he arrayed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.^(A)

¹¹ I adorned you with ornaments: I put bracelets on your arms, a chain on your neck,^(A)

¹⁹ the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarfs;

³ Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing;^{(A) 4} rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.^(B)

⁹ also that the women should dress themselves in moderate clothing with reverence and self-control, not with their hair braided or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, ¹⁰ but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God.
