Suferinţe şi mângâieri

3 Eu sunt omul care a văzut suferinţa sub nuiaua urgiei Lui.
2 El m-a dus, m-a mânat în întuneric, şi nu în lumină.
3 Numai împotriva mea îşi întinde şi îşi întoarce mâna toată ziua.
4 Mi-a prăpădit(A) carnea şi pielea şi mi-a zdrobit(B) oasele.
5 A făcut zid împrejurul meu şi m-a înconjurat cu otravă şi durere.
6 Mă aşază(C) în întuneric, ca pe cei morţi pentru totdeauna.
7 M-a înconjurat(D) cu un zid ca să nu ies; m-a pus în lanţuri grele.
8 Să tot strig(E) şi să tot cer ajutor, căci El tot nu-mi primeşte rugăciunea.
9 Mi-a astupat calea cu pietre cioplite şi mi-a strâmbat cărările.
10 Mă pândeşte(F) ca un urs şi ca un leu într-un loc ascuns.
11 Mi-a abătut căile şi apoi s-a(G) aruncat pe mine şi m-a pustiit.
12 Şi-a încordat arcul şi m-a pus(H) ţintă săgeţii Lui.
13 În rărunchi mi-a înfipt săgeţile(I) din tolba Lui.
14 Am ajuns de râsul(J) poporului meu şi toată ziua sunt pus în cântece(K) de batjocură de ei.
15 M-a săturat(L) de amărăciune, m-a îmbătat cu pelin.
16 Mi-a sfărâmat dinţii cu pietre(M), m-a acoperit cu cenuşă.
17 Mi-ai luat pacea şi nu mai cunosc fericirea.
18 Şi am(N) zis: „S-a dus puterea mea de viaţă şi nu mai am nicio nădejde în Domnul.”
19 „Gândeşte-Te la necazul şi suferinţa mea, la pelin(O) şi la otravă!”
20 Când îşi aduce aminte sufletul meu de ele, este mâhnit în mine.
21 Iată ce mai gândesc în inima mea şi iată ce mă face să mai trag nădejde:
22 Bunătăţile(P) Domnului nu s-au sfârşit, îndurările Lui nu sunt la capăt,
23 ci se înnoiesc în fiecare(Q) dimineaţă. Şi credincioşia Ta este atât de mare!
24 „Domnul este partea mea(R) de moştenire”, zice sufletul meu, de aceea nădăjduiesc în El.
25 Domnul este bun cu cine nădăjduieşte(S) în El, cu sufletul care-L caută.
26 Bine este să aştepţi(T) în tăcere ajutorul Domnului.
27 Este bine(U) pentru om să poarte un jug în tinereţea lui.
28 Să stea(V) singur şi să tacă, pentru că Domnul i l-a pus pe grumaz;
29 să-şi umple gura(W) cu ţărână şi să nu-şi piardă nădejdea;
30 să dea(X) obrazul celui ce-l loveşte şi să se sature de ocări.
31 Căci(Y) Domnul nu leapădă pentru totdeauna.
32 Ci, când mâhneşte pe cineva, Se îndură iarăşi de el după îndurarea Lui cea mare,
33 căci El nu necăjeşte(Z) cu plăcere, nici nu mâhneşte bucuros pe copiii oamenilor.
34 Când se calcă în picioarele toţi prinşii de război ai unei ţări,
35 când se calcă dreptatea omenească în faţa Celui Preaînalt,
36 când este nedreptăţit un om în pricina lui, nu vede(AA) Domnul?
37 Cine a spus(AB) şi s-a întâmplat ceva fără porunca Domnului?
38 Nu ies din gura Celui Preaînalt răul(AC) şi binele?
39 De ce(AD) să se plângă omul cât trăieşte? Fiecare(AE) să se plângă mai bine de păcatele lui!
40 Să luăm seama la umbletele noastre, să le cercetăm şi să ne întoarcem la Domnul.
41 Să ne înălţăm(AF) şi inimile cu mâinile spre Dumnezeu din cer, zicând:
42 „Am păcătuit(AG), am fost îndărătnici, şi nu ne-ai iertat!”
43 În mânia Ta, Te-ai ascuns şi ne-ai urmărit, ai ucis(AH) fără milă.
44 Te-ai învăluit într-un nor, ca(AI) să nu străbată la Tine rugăciunea noastră.
45 Ne-ai făcut de batjocură(AJ) şi de ocară printre popoare.
46 Toţi vrăjmaşii(AK) noştri deschid gura împotriva noastră.
47 De groază(AL) şi de groapă am avut parte, de prăpăd(AM) şi pustiire.
48 Şuvoaie(AN) de apă îmi curg din ochi din pricina prăpădului fiicei poporului meu.
49 Mi se topeşte ochiul(AO) în lacrimi necurmat şi fără răgaz,
50 până ce Domnul va privi din cer(AP) şi va vedea.
51 Mă doare ochiul de plâns pentru toate fiicele cetăţii mele.
52 Cei ce mă urăsc fără temei(AQ) m-au gonit ca pe o pasăre.
53 Voiau să-mi nimicească viaţa într-o groapă(AR) şi au aruncat(AS) cu pietre în mine.
54 Mi-au năvălit(AT) apele peste cap şi(AU) ziceam: „Sunt pierdut!”
55 Dar am chemat(AV) Numele Tău, Doamne, din fundul gropii.
56 Tu mi-ai auzit(AW) glasul: „Nu-Ţi astupa urechea la suspinele şi strigătele mele.”
57 În ziua când Te-am chemat, Te-ai apropiat(AX) şi ai zis: „Nu te teme!”
58 Doamne, Tu ai apărat(AY) pricina sufletului meu, mi-ai răscumpărat viaţa!
59 Doamne, ai văzut apăsarea mea: fă-mi(AZ) dreptate.
60 Ai văzut toate răzbunările lor, toate uneltirile(BA) lor împotriva mea.
61 Doamne, le-ai auzit ocările, toate uneltirile împotriva mea,
62 cuvântările potrivnicilor mei şi planurile pe care le urzeau în fiecare zi împotriva mea.
63 Uită-Te când stau(BB) ei jos sau când se scoală. Eu(BC) sunt cântecul lor de batjocură.
64 Răsplăteşte-le(BD), Doamne, după faptele mâinilor lor!
65 Împietreşte-le inima şi aruncă blestemul Tău împotriva lor!
66 Urmăreşte-i, în mânia Ta, şi şterge-i de sub(BE) ceruri(BF), Doamne!

3 Yo soy el hombre que ha visto la aflicción
bajo la vara de su furor(A).
2 Él me ha llevado y me ha hecho andar
en tinieblas y no en luz(B).
3 Ciertamente contra mí ha vuelto y revuelto
su mano(C) todo el día.
4 Ha hecho que se consuman mi carne y mi piel,
ha quebrado mis huesos(D).
5 Me ha sitiado[a] y rodeado
de amargura[b](E) y de fatiga(F).
6 En lugares tenebrosos me ha hecho morar,
como los que han muerto hace tiempo(G).
7 Con muro me ha cercado y no puedo salir(H),
ha hecho pesadas mis cadenas[c](I).
8 Aun cuando clamo y pido auxilio,
Él cierra el paso a mi oración(J).
9 Ha cerrado[d] mis caminos con piedra labrada,
ha hecho tortuosos mis senderos(K).
10 Él es para mí como oso en acecho,
como león en lugares ocultos.
11 Ha desviado mis caminos y me ha destrozado(L),
me ha dejado desolado.
12 Ha entesado su arco(M)
y me ha puesto como blanco de la flecha(N).
13 Hizo que penetraran en mis entrañas[e]
las flechas[f] de su aljaba(O).
14 He venido a ser objeto de burla de todo mi pueblo(P),
su copla(Q) todo el día.
15 Él me ha llenado de amargura,
me ha embriagado con ajenjo(R).
16 Ha quebrado con guijarro(S) mis dientes(T),
ha hecho que me revuelque en el polvo(U).
17 Y mi alma ha sido privada[g] de la paz(V),
he olvidado la felicidad[h].
18 Digo, pues: Ha perecido mi vigor,
y mi esperanza(W) que venía del Señor.

19 Acuérdate de mi aflicción y de mi vagar[i],
del ajenjo y de la amargura[j](X).
20 Ciertamente lo recuerda y se abate
mi alma(Y) dentro de mí(Z).
21 Esto traigo a mi corazón,
por esto tengo esperanza(AA):
22 Que las misericordias del Señor jamás terminan[k](AB),
pues nunca fallan sus bondades(AC);
23 son nuevas cada mañana(AD);
¡grande es tu fidelidad(AE)!
24 El Señor es mi porción —dice mi alma(AF)—
por eso en Él espero(AG).
25 Bueno es el Señor para los que en Él esperan(AH),
para el alma que le busca(AI).
26 Bueno es esperar en silencio
la salvación del Señor(AJ).
27 Bueno es para el hombre llevar
el yugo en su juventud.
28 Que se siente solo(AK) y en silencio
ya que Él se lo ha impuesto;
29 que ponga su boca en el polvo(AL),
quizá haya esperanza(AM);
30 que dé la mejilla(AN) al que lo hiere;
que se sacie de oprobios.
31 Porque no rechaza para siempre el Señor(AO),
32 antes bien, si aflige, también se compadecerá
según su gran misericordia(AP).
33 Porque Él no castiga por gusto[l],
ni aflige a los hijos de los hombres(AQ).
34 Aplastar bajo los[m] pies
a todos los prisioneros de un país,
35 privar del[n] derecho a un hombre
en presencia del Altísimo(AR),
36 defraudar[o] a un hombre en su litigio:
estas cosas no aprueba[p] el Señor(AS).
37 ¿Quién es aquel[q] que habla y así sucede,
a menos que el Señor lo haya ordenado(AT)?
38 ¿No salen de la boca del Altísimo
tanto el mal como el bien(AU)?

39 ¿Por qué ha de quejarse el ser viviente?
¡Sea valiente frente a sus pecados(AV)!
40 Examinemos nuestros caminos y escudriñémoslos,
y volvamos al Señor(AW);
41 alcemos nuestro corazón en nuestras manos[r]
hacia Dios en los cielos(AX).
42 Nosotros hemos transgredido y nos hemos rebelado(AY);
tú no has perdonado(AZ).
43 Te has cubierto de ira y nos has perseguido(BA);
has matado y no has perdonado(BB).
44 Te has cubierto de una nube(BC)
para que no pase la oración(BD).
45 Basura y escoria nos has hecho
en medio de los pueblos(BE).
46 Han abierto su boca contra nosotros
todos nuestros enemigos(BF).
47 Terror y foso nos han sobrevenido(BG),
desolación y destrucción.
48 Arroyos de agua derraman mis ojos
a causa de la destrucción[s] de la hija de mi pueblo(BH).
49 Mis ojos fluyen sin cesar,
ya que no hay descanso(BI)
50 hasta que mire y vea
el Señor desde los cielos(BJ).
51 Mis ojos causan dolor a mi alma
por todas las hijas de mi ciudad.
52 Constantemente me han dado caza(BK) como a un ave(BL)
mis enemigos, sin haber causa;
53 silenciaron mi vida en la fosa(BM),

54 Cubrieron las aguas mi cabeza,

55 Invoqué tu nombre, oh Señor,

59 Tú has visto, oh Señor, mi opresión(BW),
juzga mi causa(BX).
60 Has visto toda su venganza,
todas sus tramas contra mí(BY).
61 Has oído sus oprobios, oh Señor,
todas sus tramas contra mí(BZ);
62 los labios de mis agresores y sus murmuraciones
están contra mí todo el día(CA).
63 Se sienten o se levanten, míralos(CB),
yo soy el objeto de su copla(CC).
64 Tú les darás su pago, oh Señor,
conforme a la obra de sus manos(CD).
65 Les darás dureza[u] de corazón(CE),
tu maldición será sobre ellos.
66 Los perseguirás con ira y los destruirás(CF)

3 [a]I am the man who has seen affliction(A)
    by the rod of the Lord’s wrath.(B)
2 He has driven me away and made me walk
    in darkness(C) rather than light;
3 indeed, he has turned his hand against me(D)
    again and again, all day long.

4 He has made my skin and my flesh grow old(E)
    and has broken my bones.(F)
5 He has besieged me and surrounded me
    with bitterness(G) and hardship.(H)
6 He has made me dwell in darkness
    like those long dead.(I)

7 He has walled me in so I cannot escape;(J)
    he has weighed me down with chains.(K)
8 Even when I call out or cry for help,(L)
    he shuts out my prayer.(M)
9 He has barred(N) my way with blocks of stone;
    he has made my paths crooked.(O)

10 Like a bear lying in wait,
    like a lion(P) in hiding,(Q)
11 he dragged me from the path and mangled(R) me
    and left me without help.
12 He drew his bow(S)
    and made me the target(T) for his arrows.(U)

13 He pierced(V) my heart

18 So I say, “My splendor is gone

19 I remember my affliction and my wandering,

20 I well remember them,
    and my soul is downcast(AG) within me.(AH)
21 Yet this I call to mind
    and therefore I have hope:

22 Because of the Lord’s great love(AI) we are not consumed,(AJ)
    for his compassions never fail.(AK)
23 They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.(AL)
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;(AM)
    therefore I will wait for him.”

25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;(AN)
26 it is good to wait quietly(AO)
    for the salvation of the Lord.(AP)
27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke
    while he is young.

28 Let him sit alone in silence,(AQ)
    for the Lord has laid it on him.
29 Let him bury his face in the dust(AR)—
    there may yet be hope.(AS)
30 Let him offer his cheek to one who would strike him,(AT)
    and let him be filled with disgrace.(AU)

31 For no one is cast off
    by the Lord forever.(AV)
32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion,
    so great is his unfailing love.(AW)
33 For he does not willingly bring affliction
    or grief to anyone.(AX)

34 To crush underfoot
    all prisoners in the land,
35 to deny people their rights
    before the Most High,(AY)
36 to deprive them of justice—
    would not the Lord see such things?(AZ)

37 Who can speak and have it happen
    if the Lord has not decreed it?(BA)
38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
    that both calamities and good things come?(BB)
39 Why should the living complain
    when punished for their sins?(BC)

40 Let us examine our ways and test them,(BD)
    and let us return to the Lord.(BE)
41 Let us lift up our hearts and our hands
    to God in heaven,(BF) and say:
42 “We have sinned and rebelled(BG)
    and you have not forgiven.(BH)

43 “You have covered yourself with anger and pursued(BI) us;
    you have slain without pity.(BJ)
44 You have covered yourself with a cloud(BK)
    so that no prayer(BL) can get through.(BM)
45 You have made us scum(BN) and refuse
    among the nations.

46 “All our enemies have opened their mouths
    wide(BO) against us.(BP)
47 We have suffered terror and pitfalls,(BQ)
    ruin and destruction.(BR)”
48 Streams of tears(BS) flow from my eyes(BT)
    because my people are destroyed.(BU)

49 My eyes will flow unceasingly,
    without relief,(BV)
50 until the Lord looks down
    from heaven and sees.(BW)
51 What I see brings grief to my soul
    because of all the women of my city.

52 Those who were my enemies without cause
    hunted me like a bird.(BX)
53 They tried to end my life in a pit(BY)
    and threw stones at me;
54 the waters closed over my head,(BZ)
    and I thought I was about to perish.(CA)

55 I called on your name, Lord,
    from the depths(CB) of the pit.(CC)
56 You heard my plea:(CD) “Do not close your ears
    to my cry for relief.”
57 You came near(CE) when I called you,
    and you said, “Do not fear.”(CF)

58 You, Lord, took up my case;(CG)
    you redeemed my life.(CH)
59 Lord, you have seen the wrong done to me.(CI)
    Uphold my cause!(CJ)
60 You have seen the depth of their vengeance,
    all their plots against me.(CK)

61 Lord, you have heard their insults,(CL)
    all their plots against me—
62 what my enemies whisper and mutter
    against me all day long.(CM)
63 Look at them! Sitting or standing,
    they mock me in their songs.(CN)

64 Pay them back what they deserve, Lord,
    for what their hands have done.(CO)
65 Put a veil over their hearts,(CP)
    and may your curse be on them!
66 Pursue(CQ) them in anger and destroy them
    from under the heavens of the Lord.
