Therefore, my brethren most dear-worthy and most desired, my joy and my crown, so stand ye in the Lord, most dear brethren.

I pray Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, to understand the same thing in the Lord.

Also I pray and thee, german fellow [Also and I pray thee, german even-fellow], help thou those women that travailed with me in the gospel, with Clement and other mine helpers, whose names be in the book of life.

Joy ye in the Lord evermore; again I say, joy ye.

Be your patience known to all men [Be your temperance, or patience, known to all men]; the Lord is nigh.

Be ye nothing busy [Be nothing busy], but in all prayer and beseeching, with doing of thankings, be your askings known at God.

And the peace of God, that passeth all wit, keep your hearts and understandings in Christ Jesus.

From henceforth, brethren, whatever things be sooth, whatever things chaste, whatever things just, whatever things holy, whatever things able to be loved[a], whatever things of good fame, if any virtue, if any praising of discipline, think ye (on) these things,

that also ye have learned, and taken, and heard, and seen in me. Do ye these things, and God of peace shall be with you.

10 But I joyed greatly in the Lord, that sometime afterward ye flowered again to feel for me [for sometime afterward ye again flourished for to feel for me], as also ye feeled. But ye were occupied,

11 I say not as for need, for I have learned to be sufficient in which things I am. [I say not as for need, for I have learned, in which things I am, sufficient to be.]

12 And I know also how to be lowed, I know also how to have plenty. Every where and in all things I am taught to be filled, and to hunger, and to abound, and to suffer need.[b]

13 I may all things in him that comforteth me.

14 Nevertheless ye have done well, communing to my tribulation.

15 For ye, Philippians, know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I went forth from Macedonia, no church communed with me in reason of thing given and taken, but ye alone.

16 Which sent to Thessalonica once and twice also into use to me. [For and to Thessalonica ye sent once and twice into use to me.]

17 Not for I seek gift, but I require fruit abounding in your reason. [Not for I seek gift, but I require, or seek again, fruit abounding in your reason.]

18 For I have all things, and abound; I am filled[c] with those things taken of Epaphroditus, which ye sent into the odour of sweetness, a suitable sacrifice [a covenable host, or sacrifice], pleasing to God.

19 And my God fill all your desire, by his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. [Forsooth my God full-fill all your desire, after his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.]

20 But to God and our Father be glory into worlds of worlds. Amen.

21 Greet ye well every holy man in Christ Jesus. Those brethren that be with me, greet you well.

22 All holy men greet you well, most soothly they that be of the emperor's house [most soothly those that be of Caesar's house].

23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men.

The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in all things let your requests be made known to God, in prayer and supplication with giving of thanks. And may the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Furthermore, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things belong to love, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtuous thing, if there be any praiseworthy thing: these same have in your minds. The things you have both learned and received, heard and also seen in me, those things do, and the God of peace will be with you.

10 I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at the last you have come around again to care for me – where you had been concerned, but you lacked opportunity. 11 I am not speaking out of need. For I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I can both cast myself down and I can also prosper. Everywhere and in all things I am taught both to be full and to be hungry, to have plenty and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things with the help of Christ, who strengthens me. 14 Notwithstanding, you have done well to bear part with me in my tribulation.

15 You of Philippi know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no congregation bore part with me (as regards giving and receiving) but you only. 16 For when I was in Thessalonica, you sent once and afterward again to supply my needs – 17 not that I desire gifts, but I desire abundant fruit on your parts. 18 I welcomed everything, and have plenty. I was filled after I received from Epaphroditus that which came from you, an odour that smells sweet, a sacrifice accepted and pleasing to God.

19 May my God fulfil all your needs through his glorious riches in Jesus Christ. 20 To our God and Father be glory forevermore. Amen.

21 Greet all the saints in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me  greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, and most of all those who are of the Emperor’s household. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

1 From particular exhortations, 4 he cometh to general. 10 He saith that he took such joy in their readiness to liberality, 12 that he will patiently bear the want.

Therefore, [a]my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and my [b]crown, so continue in the [c]Lord, ye beloved.

[d]I pray Euodia, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of one accord in the Lord.

Yea, and I beseech thee, faithful yokefellow, help those women, which labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow laborers, whose names are in the (A)[e]book of life.

12 And I can be [s]abased, and I can abound: everywhere in all things I am [t]instructed, both to be full, and to be hungry, and to abound, and to have want.

13 I am able to do all things through the help of Christ, which strengtheneth me.

14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate to mine affliction.

15 [u]And ye Philippians know also that in the [v]beginning of the Gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no Church communicated with me, concerning the matter of giving and receiving, but ye only.

16 For even when I was in Thessalonica, ye sent once, and afterward again for my necessity.

17 [w]Not that I desire a gift: but I desire the fruit which may further your reckoning.

18 Now I have received all, and have plenty: I was even filled, after that I had received of Epaphroditus that which came from you, an [x]odor that smelleth sweet, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasant to God.

19 And my God shall fulfill all your necessities through his riches with glory in Jesus Christ.

20 Unto God even our Father be praise for evermore, Amen.

21 Salute all the Saints in Christ Jesus. The brethren, which are with me, greet you.

22 All the Saints salute you, and most of all they which are of [y]Caesar’s household.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Closing Appeal for Steadfastness and Unity

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for,(A) my joy and crown, stand firm(B) in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind(C) in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers,(D) whose names are in the book of life.(E)

Final Exhortations

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!(F) Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.(G) Do not be anxious about anything,(H) but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.(I) And the peace of God,(J) which transcends all understanding,(K) will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.(L) And the God of peace(M) will be with you.

Thanks for Their Gifts

10 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me.(N) Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content(O) whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,(P) whether living in plenty or in want.(Q) 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.(R)

14 Yet it was good of you to share(S) in my troubles. 15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days(T) of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia,(U) not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;(V) 16 for even when I was in Thessalonica,(W) you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.(X) 17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.(Y) 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus(Z) the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant(AA) offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19 And my God will meet all your needs(AB) according to the riches of his glory(AC) in Christ Jesus.

20 To our God and Father(AD) be glory for ever and ever. Amen.(AE)

Final Greetings

21 Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me(AF) send greetings. 22 All God’s people(AG) here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.
