^4 (A)Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

⁵ Let your ^[a]gentleness be known to all men. ^(B)The Lord is at hand.

^6 (C)Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with ^(D)thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; ⁷ and ^(E)the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatever things are ^(F)true, whatever things are ^(G)noble, whatever things are ^(H)just, ^(I)whatever things are pure, whatever things are ^(J)lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Character of the New Man

¹² Therefore, ^(A)as the elect of God, holy and beloved, ^(B)put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; ^13 (C)bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

¹⁷ And ^(A)whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
