Philippians 2:3-11
New Living Translation
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
6 Though he was God,[a]
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges[b];
he took the humble position of a slave[c]
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,[d]
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:3-11
English Standard Version
3 Do nothing from (A)selfish ambition or (B)conceit, but in (C)humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you (D)look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 (E)Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,[a] 6 (F)who, though he was in (G)the form of God, did not count equality with God (H)a thing to be grasped,[b] 7 but (I)emptied himself, by taking the form of a (J)servant,[c] (K)being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by (L)becoming obedient to the point of death, (M)even death on a cross. 9 (N)Therefore (O)God has (P)highly exalted him and bestowed on him (Q)the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus (R)every knee should bow, (S)in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and (T)every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is (U)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
