8 More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ,[a] the righteousness from God based on faith. 10 I want to know Christ[b] and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, 11 if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Pressing toward the Goal
12 Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal;[c] but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.

12 Not that I have already (G)attained,[b] or am already (H)perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ(B) 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law,(C) but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness(D) that comes from God on the basis of faith.(E) 10 I want to know(F) Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings,(G) becoming like him in his death,(H) 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection(I) from the dead.
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal,(J) but I press on to take hold(K) of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.(L)
