Philippians 2:5-18

5 (A)Have this attitude [a]in yourselves which was also in (B)Christ Jesus, 6 who, as He already (C)existed in the (D)form of God, (E)did not consider equality with God something to be [b]grasped, 7 but [c](F)emptied Himself by taking the form of a (G)bond-servant and [d](H)being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, (I)He humbled Himself by becoming (J)obedient to the point of death: (K)death [e]on a cross. 9 (L)For this reason also God (M)highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him (N)the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus (O)every knee will bow, of (P)those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is (Q)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12 So then, my beloved, (R)just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own (S)salvation with (T)fear and trembling; 13 for it is (U)God who is at work in you, both to [f]desire and to work (V)for His good pleasure.

14 Do all things without (W)complaining or arguments; 15 so that you will [g]prove yourselves to be (X)blameless and innocent, (Y)children of God above reproach in the midst of a (Z)crooked and perverse generation, among whom you [h](AA)appear as [i]lights in the world, 16 holding firmly the word of life, so that on (AB)the day of Christ I can take pride because I did not (AC)run in vain nor (AD)labor in vain. 17 But even if I am being (AE)poured out as a drink offering upon (AF)the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. 18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

Philippians 2:5-18
New International Version

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:(A)

6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,(B)
    did not consider equality with God(C) something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing(D)
    by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,(E)
    being made in human likeness.(F)
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death(G)—
        even death on a cross!(H)

9 Therefore God exalted him(I) to the highest place
    and gave him the name that is above every name,(J)
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,(K)
    in heaven and on earth and under the earth,(L)
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,(M)
    to the glory of God the Father.

Do Everything Without Grumbling

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,(N) 13 for it is God who works in you(O) to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.(P)

14 Do everything without grumbling(Q) or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless(R) and pure, “children of God(S) without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”[c](T) Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ(U) that I did not run(V) or labor in vain.(W) 17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering(X) on the sacrifice(Y) and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.(Z) 18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

32 “(A)Listen, you heavens, and I will speak;
And let the earth hear the words of my mouth!
2 (B)May my teaching drip as the rain,
My speech trickle as the dew,
(C)As droplets on the fresh grass,
And as the showers on the vegetation.
3 (D)For I proclaim the name of the Lord;
(E)Ascribe greatness to our God!
4 (F)The Rock! His work is perfect,
(G)For all His ways are [a]just;
(H)A God of faithfulness and without injustice,
Righteous and just is He.
5 [b](I)They have acted corruptly against Him,
They are not His children, because of their defect;
(J)But are a perverse and crooked generation.
6 Is this what you (K)do to the Lord,
(L)You foolish and unwise people?
(M)Is He not your Father who has purchased you?
(N)He has made you and established you.
7 Remember the days of old,
Consider the years of all generations.
(O)Ask your father and he will inform you,
Your elders, and they will tell you.
8 (P)When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance,
When He separated the sons of [c]mankind,
He set the boundaries of the peoples
(Q)According to the number of the [d]sons of Israel.
9 (R)For the Lord’s portion is His people;
Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.

New International Version

32 Listen,(A) you heavens,(B) and I will speak;
    hear, you earth, the words of my mouth.(C)
2 Let my teaching fall like rain(D)
    and my words descend like dew,(E)
like showers(F) on new grass,
    like abundant rain on tender plants.

3 I will proclaim(G) the name of the Lord.(H)
    Oh, praise the greatness(I) of our God!
4 He is the Rock,(J) his works are perfect,(K)
    and all his ways are just.
A faithful God(L) who does no wrong,
    upright(M) and just is he.(N)

5 They are corrupt and not his children;
    to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation.(O)
6 Is this the way you repay(P) the Lord,
    you foolish(Q) and unwise people?(R)
Is he not your Father,(S) your Creator,[a]
    who made you and formed you?(T)

7 Remember the days of old;(U)
    consider the generations long past.(V)
Ask your father and he will tell you,
    your elders, and they will explain to you.(W)
8 When the Most High(X) gave the nations their inheritance,
    when he divided all mankind,(Y)
he set up boundaries(Z) for the peoples
