¹⁴Do all things without complaining and arguing, ¹⁵that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world, ¹⁶holding up the word of life, that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ, that I didn’t run in vain nor labor in vain. ¹⁷Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all. ¹⁸In the same way, you also rejoice, and rejoice with me.

New International Version

¹⁴Do everything without grumbling^(A) or arguing, ¹⁵so that you may become blameless^(B) and pure, “children of God^(C) without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”^[a]^(D) Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky ¹⁶as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ^(E) that I did not run^(F) or labor in vain.^(G) ¹⁷But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering^(H) on the sacrifice^(I) and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.^(J) ¹⁸So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
