¹⁸ For ^(A)many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you ^(B)even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.

The New Life

¹⁷ Now this I say and ^(A)testify in the Lord, ^(B)that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, ^(C)in the futility of their minds.

Fear God, Wait for the Lord

¹¹ For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and ^(A)warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying:

^12 (A)It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh ^(B)who would force you to be circumcised, and only ^(C)in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

¹⁴ But when I saw that their ^(A)conduct was not in step with ^(B)the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas ^(C)before them all, “If you, though a Jew, ^(D)live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

^7 (A)not that there is another one, but ^(B)there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

¹⁰ and especially ^(A)those who indulge^[a] in the lust of defiling passion and ^(B)despise authority.

Bold and willful, they do not tremble ^(C)as they blaspheme the glorious ones,

⁶ that no one transgress and ^(A)wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is ^(B)an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.
