⁴ In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray^(A) with joy

Thanksgiving for the Thessalonians’ Faith

² We always thank God for all of you^(A) and continually mention you in our prayers.^(B)

⁴ It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth,^(A) just as the Father commanded us.

⁹ God, whom I serve^(A) in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness^(B) how constantly I remember you

¹⁴ who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance^(A) until the redemption^(B) of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.^(C)

Thanksgiving and Prayer

¹⁵ For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus^(D) and your love for all God’s people,^{(E) 16} I have not stopped giving thanks for you,^(F) remembering you in my prayers.^{(G) 17} I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,^(H) may give you the Spirit^[a] of wisdom^(I) and revelation, so that you may know him better. ¹⁸ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened^(J) in order that you may know the hope to which he has called^(K) you, the riches^(L) of his glorious inheritance^(M) in his holy people,^{(N) 19} and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power^(O) is the same as the mighty strength^{(P) 20} he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead^(Q) and seated him at his right hand^(R) in the heavenly realms,^{(S) 21} far above all rule and authority, power and dominion,^(T) and every name^(U) that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.^{(V) 22} And God placed all things under his feet^(W) and appointed him to be head^(X) over everything for the church, ²³ which is his body,^(Y) the fullness of him^(Z) who fills everything in every way.^(AA)

⁷ Your love has given me great joy and encouragement,^(A) because you, brother, have refreshed^(B) the hearts of the Lord’s people.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown^(A) in which we will glory^(B) in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes?^(C) Is it not you? ²⁰ Indeed, you are our glory^(D) and joy.

⁵ For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit^(A) and delight to see how disciplined^(B) you are and how firm^(C) your faith in Christ^(D) is.

Closing Appeal for Steadfastness and Unity

4 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for,^(A) my joy and crown, stand firm^(B) in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
