Anđeo i mali svitak
10 Ugledam zatim još jednoga jakog anđela kako silazi s neba okružen oblacima, s dugom iznad glave. Lice mu je sjalo poput Sunca, a noge poput ognjenih stupova.
2 U ruci je imao maleni razvijeni svitak. Desnom nogom stane na more, a lijevom na zemlju
3 pa poviče glasno kao da lav riče. Kad vikne, zatutnji sedam gromova.
4 Kad je progovorilo sedam gromova htio sam to zapisati, ali začujem glas s neba: 'Sačuvaj tajnim što je reklo sedam gromova. To ne zapisuj.'
5 Zatim snažni anđeo što je stajao na moru i na zemlji podigne desnu ruku prema nebu.
6 Zakune se u ime onoga koji živi u vijeke vjekova, koji je stvorio nebo i sve u njemu, zemlju i sve na njoj, more i sve u njemu te reče: 'Bog više neće čekati.
7 Kad se oglasi trublja sedmoga anđela, Božji će se tajni naum ispuniti, kao što je svojim slugama navijestio po prorocima.'
8 Evo glasa s neba: 'Idi i uzmi razvijen svitak od anđela koji stoji na moru i na zemlji.'
9 Pristupim mu zato i zamolim ga da mi dade svitak. 'Uzmi ga i pojedi
10 Uzmem ga iz njegove ruke i pojedem. U ustima mi je bio sladak, ali mi je zagorčio utrobu.
11 Zatim mi reče: 'Moraš opet prorokovati narodima, pucima i kraljevima.'

The Angel and the Little Scroll
10 Then I saw another mighty angel(A) coming down from heaven.(B) He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow(C) above his head; his face was like the sun,(D) and his legs were like fiery pillars.(E) 2 He was holding a little scroll,(F) which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,(G) 3 and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion.(H) When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders(I) spoke. 4 And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write;(J) but I heard a voice from heaven(K) say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.”(L)
5 Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land(M) raised his right hand to heaven.(N) 6 And he swore(O) by him who lives for ever and ever,(P) who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it,(Q) and said, “There will be no more delay!(R) 7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet,(S) the mystery(T) of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”(U)
8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven(V) spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll(W) that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’[a]”(X) 10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth,(Y) but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy(Z) again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”(AA)

The Mighty Angel with the Little Book
10 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. (A)And a rainbow was on (B)his head, his face was like the sun, and (C)his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He had a little book open in his hand. (D)And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, (E)seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 Now when the seven thunders [a]uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying [b]to me, (F)“Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”
5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land (G)raised up his [c]hand to heaven 6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, (H)who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, (I)that there should be delay no longer, 7 but (J)in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
John Eats the Little Book
8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.”
9 So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.”
And he said to me, (K)“Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”
10 Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, (L)and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, (M)my stomach became bitter. 11 And [d]he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.”
