²¹ and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.

⁹ The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly^(A) to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

⁴ three thousand talents^[a] of gold (gold of Ophir)^(A) and seven thousand talents^[b] of refined silver,^(B) for the overlaying of the walls of the buildings, ⁵ for the gold work and the silver work, and for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now, who is willing to consecrate themselves to the Lord today?”

⁶ Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials^(C) in charge of the king’s work gave willingly.^{(D) 7} They^(E) gave toward the work on the temple of God five thousand talents^[c] and ten thousand darics^[d] of gold, ten thousand talents^[e] of silver, eighteen thousand talents^[f] of bronze and a hundred thousand talents^[g] of iron. ⁸ Anyone who had precious stones^(F) gave them to the treasury of the temple of the Lord in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite.^{(G) 9} The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly^(H) to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

Offerings for the Tabernacle^(A)

25 The Lord said to Moses, ² “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts^(B) them to give. ³ These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; ⁴ blue, purple and scarlet yarn^(C) and fine linen; goat hair; ⁵ ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather^[a];^(D) acacia wood;^{(E) 6} olive oil^(F) for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;^{(G) 7} and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod^(H) and breastpiece.^(I)

³ They received from Moses all the offerings^(A) the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.

⁴ Joash said to the priests, “Collect^(A) all the money that is brought as sacred offerings^(B) to the temple of the Lord—the money collected in the census,^(C) the money received from personal vows and the money brought voluntarily^(D) to the temple.
