¹⁸ And he said to them, ^(A)“I saw Satan ^(B)fall like lightning from heaven. ¹⁹ Behold, I have given you authority ^(C)to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of ^(D)the enemy, and ^(E)nothing shall hurt you.

^22 (A)Balaam also, the son of Beor, the one who practiced divination, was killed with the sword by the people of Israel among the rest of their slain.

²⁷ And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, ^(A)by whom do ^(B)your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

²³ They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” ²⁴ And they glorified God because of me.

^20 (A)The God of peace ^(B)will soon crush Satan under your feet. ^(C)The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Balaam's Third Oracle

24 When Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not go, as at ^(A)other times, to look for omens, but set his face toward the wilderness.
