The people turn against Moses
14 Then all the people started to weep loudly. And they cried all night. 2 All the Israelites spoke bad words against Moses and Aaron. All the people said to them, ‘We would rather have died in Egypt, or even in this desert! 3 Why has the Lord brought us into this land? Its people will kill us all with swords. They will take our wives and our children for themselves. We think that it would be better for us to return to Egypt.’ 4 So they said to each other, ‘We should choose a new leader instead of Moses. Then we should return to Egypt.’
5 Then Moses and Aaron threw themselves on the ground in front of the whole group of the Israelites. 6 Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, were two of the men who had explored the land. They were very upset and they tore their clothes.[a] 7 Joshua and Caleb said to all the Israelites, ‘The land that we travelled through to explore is a very good land. 8 If the Lord is happy with us, he will bring us into this land. And he will give it to us. In that land there is plenty of food and drink, enough for everyone. 9 But do not refuse to obey the Lord. Do not be afraid of the people in that land. They are ready for us to fight against them and win! They have no place to hide! The Lord is with us to help us. So do not be afraid of them.’
10 Then all the people wanted to throw stones at Joshua and Caleb to kill them. But the glory of the Lord appeared over the Tent of Meeting. All the Israelites could see that.
11 The Lord said to Moses, ‘These people continue to turn away from me. I did great miracles to show them my power. But still they will not trust me. 12 I will send a disease to kill them. They will not get any of the good things that I wanted to give to them. Then I will make you, Moses, the ancestor of a nation greater and more powerful than they are.’
13 Moses said to the Lord, ‘Please do not do that! You used your great power to bring these people out of Egypt. If you destroy them, the Egyptians will hear about it. 14 Then they will tell the people who live in this land about it. They know that you, Lord, are among your people. They know that you meet with your people. They know that your cloud stays over them. They know that you lead them as a pillar of cloud during the day and as a pillar of fire during the night. 15 The people in other nations have heard of your power. So now, if you kill all your people together, the people in those nations will say, 16 “The Lord could not bring those people into the land that he had seriously promised to give to them. So he killed all of them in the desert.”
17 But now, I pray that you will show how powerful you are. You yourself have said, 18 “The Lord does not quickly become angry. His faithful love for his people continues for ever. He forgives people when they turn against him and they do bad things. But if someone is guilty, he surely punishes them. And he punishes their children, their grandchildren and their grandchildren's children.”
19 So please forgive the very bad thing that these people have done. Do that because your faithful love is so great. You have forgiven these people since they left Egypt until now. So please be kind and forgive them again now.’
20 Then the Lord said, ‘I have forgiven them as you asked me to do. 21 As surely as I live, and all the earth will be full of my glory, I tell you this. 22 All these people have seen my glory. They have seen the miracles that I did in Egypt and in the desert. But they have tested me many times now to see if I would punish them. They still do not obey me. 23 So I tell you, none of them will ever see the land that I promised to give to their ancestors. None of those men who did not trust me will see that place. 24 But my servant Caleb has thought differently, and he has obeyed me completely. So I will bring him into the land that he explored. It will belong to his descendants. 25 The Amalekites and the Canaanites live in the valleys now. So tomorrow you must turn back. You must travel through the desert towards the Red Sea.’
26 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 27 ‘These evil people have complained against me too many times! I have heard the bad things that the Israelites have said against me. 28 Tell them this: “I, the Lord, have heard your words. I promise you, as surely as I live, I will certainly do to you as you have said. 29 Your dead bodies will fall to the ground in this desert. All the men that Moses counted will die. Those were the men who were 20 years old or older when he counted them. They complained against me and now they will die in this desert. 30 None of them will go into the land that I promised to give to you to live in. The only men who will go in are Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, the son of Nun. 31 You said that the people in Canaan would take your children to be their slaves. But I will bring those children into the land. You did not want that land for yourselves, but now it will belong to your children. 32 But as for you, your dead bodies will fall to the ground in this desert. 33 Your children will be shepherds in the desert for 40 years. Because you did not trust me, your children will have trouble. That will continue until all your dead bodies are lying in the desert. 34 You explored the land of Canaan for 40 days. Now you will have trouble for 40 years, because of your sins. Each day becomes one year! You will know that I am not with you, but I am against you. 35 I, the Lord, have spoken! I will certainly do all these things to punish these evil people. That is because they have all joined together to speak against me. In this desert they will die. Yes, that will be the end of them!” ’
36-37 The men who had given a bad report to the people about the land of Canaan died immediately. Moses had sent them to explore the land, but they had caused all the people to turn against the Lord. So the Lord sent a bad disease to kill those men. 38 Only two men who had gone to explore the land did not die. They were Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.
39 When Moses gave God's message to all the Israelites, the people were very sad. 40 But the next morning, they got up early. They went up to the top of the hills near there. They said, ‘We have certainly done a bad thing. But now we are ready! We will go to the place that the Lord has promised to give to us.’
41 But Moses said, ‘You are still not obeying the Lord's command. Why is that? It will not happen as you want. 42 Do not go into that land. The Lord is not with you. So your enemies will win against you. 43 The Amalekites and the Canaanites will be there in front of you. They will kill you with their swords. That will happen because you have refused to obey the Lord. So the Lord will not be with you to help you.’
44 But the people did not listen to Moses. Moses and the Lord's Covenant Box stayed in the camp. But still the men went up to the top of the hills. 45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in those hills ran down. They attacked the Israelite men and they chased them to Hormah.[b]

14 And Kol HaEdah lifted up their voice, and cried; and HaAm wept that night.
2 And Kol Bnei Yisroel murmured against Moshe and against Aharon: and the Kol HaEdah said unto them, If only we had died in Eretz Mitzrayim! Or if only we had died in this midbar!
3 And why hath Hashem brought us unto this land, to fall by the cherev, that nasheinu (our wives) and our children should be as plunder? Were it not better for us to go back unto Mitzrayim?
4 And they said one to another, Let us make a Rosh (Leader), and let us go back unto Mitzrayim.
5 Then Moshe and Aharon fell on their faces before Kol Kehal Adat Bnei Yisroel.
6 And Yehoshua ben Nun, and Kalev ben Yephunneh, which were of them that explored HaAretz, tore their clothes:
7 And they spoke unto Kol Adat Bnei Yisroel, saying, HaAretz, which we passed through to explore it, is a tovah haaretz me’od me’od.
8 If Hashem delight in us, then He will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land zavat cholov udevash.
9 Only rebel not ye against Hashem, neither fear ye the Am HaAretz; for they are lachmeinu (our bread): their protection is departed from them, and Hashem is with us: fear them not.
10 But Kol HaEdah talked of stoning them with avanim. And the Kavod Hashem appeared in the Ohel Mo’ed before Kol Bnei Yisroel.
11 And Hashem said unto Moshe, How long will this people treat Me with contempt? And how long will it be until they believe in Me, for all the otot which I have performed among them?
12 I will strike them down with dever (pestilence), and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
13 And Moshe said unto Hashem, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for Thou broughtest up this people in Thy ko’ach [might] from among them;)
14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land; for they have heard that Thou Hashem art among this people, that Thou Hashem art seen eye to eye, and that Thy Anan standeth over them, and that Thou goest before them, by day in an Ammud Anan, and in an Ammud Eish by night.
15 Now if Thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the Goyim which have heard the fame of Thee will speak, saying,
16 Because Hashem was not able to bring this people into HaAretz which He promised them by oath, therefore He hath slaughtered (shachat) them in the midbar.
17 And now, I beseech thee, let the Ko’ach Adonoi be great, according as Thou hast spoken, saying,
18 Hashem is slow of anger, and of rav chesed, forgiving avon and peysha, and by no means exonerating the guilty, visiting the avon of the avot upon the banim unto the third and fourth generation.
19 Selach (forgive!), I beseech thee, the avon of this people according unto the greatness of Thy chesed, just as Thou hast forgiven this people, from Mitzrayim even until now.
20 And Hashem said, I have pardoned according to thy word [of petition]:
21 But as surely as I live, Kol HaAretz (all the Earth) shall be filled with the Kavod Hashem.
22 Because all those men which have seen My kavod, and My otot (miraculous signs), which I performed in Mitzrayim and in the midbar, and have tested Me now these ten times, and have not paid heed to My voice;
23 Surely they shall not see HaAretz which I swore unto their avot, neither shall any of them that treated Me with contempt see it:
24 But Avdi Kalev, because he hath a ruach acheret in him, and hath followed after Me fully, him will I bring into HaAretz whereinto he went; and his zera shall inherit it.
25 (Now the Amaleki and the Kena’ani dwelt in the valley.) Tomorrow turn and get you into the midbar by the way of the Yam Suph.
26 And Hashem spoke unto Moshe and unto Aharon, saying,
27 How long shall I bear with this Edah Hara’ah, which murmur against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the Bnei Yisroel, which they murmur against Me.
28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith Hashem, as ye have spoken in Mine ears, so will I do to you:
29 Your corpses shall fall in this midbar; and all that were numbered of you, according to your entire mispar (number, census), from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against Me.
30 Not one of you shall come into HaAretz, concerning which I swore to make you dwell therein, except for Kalev ben Yephunneh, and Yehoshua ben Nun.
31 But your little ones, which ye said would be plunder, them will I bring in, and they shall know HaAretz which ye have rejected.
32 But as for you, your corpses, they shall fall in this midbar.
33 And your banim shall wander [wandering ro’im] in the midbar arba’im shanah, and bear [the penalty of] your whoredoms [zenut, spiritual disloyalty and rebellion], until the last of your corpses lies in the midbar.
34 After the number of the days in which ye explored HaAretz, even arba’im, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even arba’im shanah, and ye shall know My Tenu’a (Opposition).
35 I, Hashem, have spoken, I will surely do it unto this Kol HaEdah, that are gathered together against Me: in this midbar they shall come to an end, and there they shall die.
36 And the anashim, which Moshe sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made Kol HaEdah to murmur against him, the ones spreading a dibbah (bad report, slander) about HaAretz,
37 Even those anashim that did bring up the evil report of HaAretz, died by the maggefah before Hashem.
38 But Yehoshua ben Nun, and Kalev ben Yephunneh survived of the anashim that went to explore HaAretz.
39 And Moshe told these sayings unto Kol Bnei Yisroel: and HaAm mourned greatly.
40 And they rose up early in the boker, and went up into the height of the hill country, saying, Behold, we are here, and will go up unto the place which Hashem hath promised: for we have sinned.
41 And Moshe said, Why now do ye transgress the utterance of Hashem? This will not succeed.
42 Go not up, for Hashem is not among you; that ye be not struck down before your enemies.
43 For the Amaleki and the Kena’ani are there before you, and ye shall fall by the cherev: because ye are turned away from Hashem, therefore Hashem will not be with you.
44 But they presumed to go up unto the ridge of the mountain: nevertheless the Aron Brit Hashem, and Moshe, departed not out of the machaneh.
45 Then the Amaleki came down, and the Kena’ani which dwelt in that hill country, and struck them down, and put them to rout, even unto Chormah.

The People Rebel
14 That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud.(A) 2 All the Israelites grumbled(B) against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt!(C) Or in this wilderness!(D) 3 Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword?(E) Our wives and children(F) will be taken as plunder.(G) Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?(H)” 4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.(I)”
5 Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown(J) in front of the whole Israelite assembly(K) gathered there. 6 Joshua son of Nun(L) and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes(M) 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good.(N) 8 If the Lord is pleased with us,(O) he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey,(P) and will give it to us.(Q) 9 Only do not rebel(R) against the Lord. And do not be afraid(S) of the people of the land,(T) because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with(U) us.(V) Do not be afraid of them.”(W)
10 But the whole assembly talked about stoning(X) them. Then the glory of the Lord(Y) appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites. 11 The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt?(Z) How long will they refuse to believe in me,(AA) in spite of all the signs(AB) I have performed among them? 12 I will strike them down with a plague(AC) and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation(AD) greater and stronger than they.”(AE)
13 Moses said to the Lord, “Then the Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them.(AF) 14 And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard(AG) that you, Lord, are with these people(AH) and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face,(AI) that your cloud stays over them,(AJ) and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.(AK) 15 If you put all these people to death, leaving none alive, the nations who have heard this report about you will say, 16 ‘The Lord was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath,(AL) so he slaughtered them in the wilderness.’(AM)
17 “Now may the Lord’s strength be displayed, just as you have declared: 18 ‘The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.(AN) Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’(AO) 19 In accordance with your great love, forgive(AP) the sin of these people,(AQ) just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now.”(AR)
20 The Lord replied, “I have forgiven them,(AS) as you asked. 21 Nevertheless, as surely as I live(AT) and as surely as the glory of the Lord(AU) fills the whole earth,(AV) 22 not one of those who saw my glory and the signs(AW) I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times(AX)— 23 not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath(AY) to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt(AZ) will ever see it.(BA) 24 But because my servant Caleb(BB) has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly,(BC) I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.(BD) 25 Since the Amalekites(BE) and the Canaanites(BF) are living in the valleys, turn(BG) back tomorrow and set out toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea.[a](BH)”
26 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 27 “How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites.(BI) 28 So tell them, ‘As surely as I live,(BJ) declares the Lord, I will do to you(BK) the very thing I heard you say: 29 In this wilderness your bodies will fall(BL)—every one of you twenty years old or more(BM) who was counted in the census(BN) and who has grumbled against me. 30 Not one of you will enter the land(BO) I swore with uplifted hand(BP) to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh(BQ) and Joshua son of Nun.(BR) 31 As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected.(BS) 32 But as for you, your bodies will fall(BT) in this wilderness. 33 Your children will be shepherds here for forty years,(BU) suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness. 34 For forty years(BV)—one year for each of the forty days you explored the land(BW)—you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.’ 35 I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things(BX) to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.(BY)”
36 So the men Moses had sent(BZ) to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble(CA) against him by spreading a bad report(CB) about it— 37 these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report(CC) about the land were struck down and died of a plague(CD) before the Lord. 38 Of the men who went to explore the land,(CE) only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.(CF)
39 When Moses reported this(CG) to all the Israelites, they mourned(CH) bitterly. 40 Early the next morning they set out for the highest point in the hill country,(CI) saying, “Now we are ready to go up to the land the Lord promised. Surely we have sinned!(CJ)”
41 But Moses said, “Why are you disobeying the Lord’s command? This will not succeed!(CK) 42 Do not go up, because the Lord is not with you. You will be defeated by your enemies,(CL) 43 for the Amalekites(CM) and the Canaanites(CN) will face you there. Because you have turned away from the Lord, he will not be with you(CO) and you will fall by the sword.”
44 Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up(CP) toward the highest point in the hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the Lord’s covenant moved from the camp.(CQ) 45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites(CR) who lived in that hill country(CS) came down and attacked them and beat them down all the way to Hormah.(CT)

14 Toată adunarea a ridicat glasul şi a început să ţipe. Şi poporul(A) a plâns în noaptea aceea. 2 Toţi copiii(B) lui Israel au cârtit împotriva lui Moise şi Aaron şi toată adunarea le-a zis: „De(C) ce n-om fi murit noi în ţara Egiptului sau de ce n-om fi murit în pustia aceasta? 3 Pentru ce ne duce Domnul în ţara aceasta în care vom cădea ucişi de sabie, iar nevestele noastre şi copilaşii noştri vor fi de jaf? Nu este oare mai bine să ne întoarcem în Egipt?” 4 Şi au zis unul altuia: „Să(D) ne alegem o căpetenie şi să ne(E) întoarcem în Egipt.” 5 Moise(F) şi Aaron au căzut cu faţa la pământ în faţa întregii adunări a copiilor lui Israel care era strânsă laolaltă. 6 Şi, dintre cei ce iscodiseră ţara, Iosua(G), fiul lui Nun, şi Caleb, fiul lui Iefune, şi-au rupt hainele 7 şi au vorbit astfel întregii adunări a copiilor lui Israel: „Ţara pe(H) care am străbătut-o noi ca s-o iscodim este o ţară foarte bună, minunată. 8 Dacă Domnul(I) va fi binevoitor cu noi, ne va duce în ţara aceasta şi ne-o va da: este o ţară(J) în care curge lapte şi miere. 9 Numai nu vă(K) răzvrătiţi împotriva Domnului şi nu(L) vă temeţi de oamenii din ţara aceea, căci îi vom mânca(M). Ei nu mai au niciun sprijin: Domnul(N) este cu noi, nu vă temeţi de ei!” 10 Toată(O) adunarea vorbea să-i ucidă cu pietre, când slava(P) Domnului s-a arătat peste cortul întâlnirii, înaintea tuturor copiilor lui Israel. 11 Şi Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Până(Q) când Mă va nesocoti poporul acesta? Până când nu(R) va crede el în Mine, cu toate minunile pe care le fac în mijlocul lui? 12 De aceea, îl voi lovi cu ciumă şi-l voi nimici, dar pe tine(S) te voi face un neam mai mare şi mai puternic decât el.” 13 Moise(T) a zis Domnului: „Egiptenii vor auzi lucrul acesta, ei, din mijlocul cărora ai scos pe poporul acesta prin puterea Ta. 14 Şi vor spune locuitorilor ţării aceleia. Ei ştiau(U) că Tu, Domnul, eşti în mijlocul poporului acestuia; că Te arătai în chip văzut, Tu, Domnul; că norul(V) Tău stă peste el; că Tu mergi înaintea lui ziua într-un stâlp de nor şi noaptea într-un stâlp de foc. 15 Dacă omori pe poporul acesta ca pe un singur om, neamurile, care au auzit vorbindu-se de Tine, vor zice: 16 ‘Domnul n-avea(W) putere să ducă pe poporul acesta în ţara pe care jurase că i-o va da, de aceea l-a omorât în pustie!’ 17 Acum, să se arate puterea Domnului în mărimea ei, cum ai spus când ai zis: 18 ‘Domnul este încet(X) la mânie şi bogat în bunătate, iartă fărădelegea şi răzvrătirea, dar nu ţine pe cel vinovat drept nevinovat şi pedepseşte(Y) fărădelegea părinţilor în copii până la al treilea şi la al patrulea neam.’ 19 Iartă(Z) dar fărădelegea poporului acestuia(AA), după(AB) mărimea îndurării Tale, cum ai iertat poporului acestuia din Egipt până aici.” 20 Şi Domnul a spus: „Iert, cum ai(AC) cerut. 21 Dar cât este de adevărat că Eu sunt viu şi că slava Domnului va umple tot(AD) pământul, 22 atât este de adevărat că toţi(AE) cei ce au văzut cu ochii lor slava Mea şi minunile pe care le-am făcut în Egipt şi în pustie, şi totuşi M-au ispitit de zece(AF) ori acum şi n-au ascultat glasul Meu, 23 toţi aceia(AG) nu vor vedea ţara pe care am jurat părinţilor lor că le-o voi da, şi anume toţi cei ce M-au nesocotit n-o vor vedea. 24 Iar pentru că robul Meu Caleb(AH) a fost însufleţit de un alt duh şi a urmat în(AI) totul calea Mea, îl voi face să intre în ţara în care s-a dus şi urmaşii lui o vor stăpâni. 25 Amaleciţii şi canaaniţii locuiesc valea aceasta, deci mâine, întoarceţi-vă şi plecaţi(AJ) în pustie, pe calea care duce spre Marea Roşie.” 26 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise şi lui Aaron şi a zis: 27 „Până când(AK) voi lăsa această rea adunare să cârtească împotriva Mea? Am auzit cârtirile(AL) copiilor lui Israel, care cârteau împotriva Mea. 28 Spune-le: ‘Pe(AM) viaţa Mea’, zice Domnul, ‘că vă voi face întocmai(AN) cum aţi vorbit în auzul urechilor Mele! 29 Trupurile voastre moarte vor cădea în pustia aceasta. Voi toţi(AO), a căror numărătoare s-a făcut, numărându-vă de la vârsta de douăzeci de ani în sus, şi care aţi cârtit împotriva Mea 30 nu veţi intra în ţara pe care jurasem că vă voi da-o s-o locuiţi, afară(AP) de Caleb, fiul lui Iefune, şi Iosua, fiul lui Nun. 31 Pe(AQ) copilaşii voştri însă, despre care aţi zis că vor fi de jaf, îi voi face să intre în ea, ca să cunoască ţara pe care aţi(AR) nesocotit-o voi. 32 Iar cât despre voi, trupurile(AS) voastre moarte vor cădea în pustie. 33 Şi copiii voştri vor rătăci(AT) patruzeci(AU) de ani în pustie şi vor ispăşi(AV) astfel păcatele voastre, până ce toate trupurile voastre moarte vor cădea în pustie. 34 După cum(AW) în patruzeci de zile(AX) aţi iscodit ţara, tot aşa, patruzeci de ani veţi purta pedeapsa fărădelegilor voastre, adică un an de fiecare zi, şi veţi şti atunci ce înseamnă să-Mi trag Eu mâna de la voi. 35 Eu(AY), Domnul, am vorbit! În adevăr, aşa voi face acestei rele(AZ) adunări, care s-a unit împotriva Mea; vor fi nimiciţi în pustia aceasta şi în ea vor muri’.” 36 Bărbaţii(BA) pe care îi trimisese Moise să iscodească ţara şi care, la întoarcerea lor, făcuseră ca toată adunarea să cârtească împotriva lui, înnegrind ţara, 37 oamenii aceştia, care înnegriseră ţara, au murit(BB) acolo, înaintea Domnului, loviţi de o moarte năpraznică. 38 Numai Iosua, fiul(BC) lui Nun, şi Caleb, fiul lui Iefune, au rămas cu viaţă dintre oamenii aceia care se duseseră să iscodească ţara.

39 Moise a spus aceste lucruri tuturor copiilor lui Israel, şi poporul a fost într-o mare(BD) jale. 40 S-au sculat dis-de-dimineaţă a doua zi şi s-au suit pe vârful muntelui, zicând: „Iată-ne!(BE) Suntem gata să ne suim în locul de care a vorbit Domnul, căci am păcătuit.” 41 Moise a zis: „Pentru ce călcaţi porunca(BF) Domnului? Nu veţi izbuti. 42 Nu vă suiţi(BG), căci Domnul nu este în mijlocul vostru! Nu căutaţi să fiţi bătuţi de vrăjmaşii voştri. 43 Căci amaleciţii şi canaaniţii sunt înaintea voastră şi veţi cădea ucişi de sabie; odată ce v-aţi abătut(BH) de la Domnul, Domnul nu va fi cu voi.” 44 Ei s-au îndărătnicit(BI) şi s-au suit pe vârful muntelui, dar chivotul legământului şi Moise n-au ieşit din mijlocul taberei. 45 Atunci(BJ) s-au pogorât amaleciţii şi canaaniţii care locuiau pe muntele acela, i-au bătut şi i-au tăiat în bucăţi până la(BK) Horma.
