¹⁸and they assembled all the congregation on the ^(A)first day of the second month. Then they registered by ^(B)ancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head, ¹⁹just as ^(C)the Lord had commanded Moses. So he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.

²⁰^(D)Now the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,

¹⁸and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month.^(A) The people registered their ancestry^(B) by their clans and families,^(C) and the men twenty years old or more^(D) were listed by name, one by one, ¹⁹as the Lord commanded Moses. And so he counted^(E) them in the Desert of Sinai:

²⁰From the descendants of Reuben^(F) the firstborn son^(G) of Israel:

All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, one by one, according to the records of their clans and families.
