No Water for the Congregation

20 Then the sons of Israel, the whole congregation, came to the ^(A)wilderness of Zin in the first month; and the people stayed at Kadesh. And Miriam died there and was buried there.

²² Then they set out from ^(A)Kadesh, and the sons of Israel, the whole congregation, came to Mount Hor.

⁷ For Yahweh your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand; He has known your ^[a]wanderings through this ^(A)great wilderness. These ^(B)forty years Yahweh your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing.”’

¹⁴ Now the ^[a]time that it took for us to come from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed over the ^[b]brook Zered was ^(A)thirty-eight years, until ^(B)all the generation of the men of war came to an end from within the camp, as ^(C)Yahweh had sworn to them.

¹⁷ then Israel ^(A)sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, “Please let us pass through your land,” but the king of Edom would not listen. ^(B)And they also sent to the king of Moab, but he was not willing. So Israel remained at Kadesh.
