⁶ And there were certain men who were ^(A)unclean through touching a dead body, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and ^(B)they came before Moses and Aaron on that day.

² And they stood before Moses and before Eleazar the priest and before the chiefs and all the congregation, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, saying,

¹⁵ And Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because ^(A)the people come to me to inquire of God;

^16 (A)Whoever in the open field touches someone who was killed with a sword or who died naturally, or touches a human bone or a ^(B)grave, shall be unclean seven days.

^11 (A)“Whoever touches the dead body of any person shall be unclean seven days.

² “Command the people of Israel that they ^(A)put out of the camp everyone who is leprous^[a] or has ^(B)a discharge and everyone who is ^(C)unclean through contact with the dead.

Jesus Before Pilate

^28 (A)Then they led Jesus ^(B)from the house of Caiaphas to ^(C)the governor's headquarters.^[a] It was early morning. They themselves did not enter the governor's headquarters, ^(D)so that they would not be defiled, ^(E)but could eat the Passover.

¹⁸ Then a clean person shall take ^(A)hyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the furnishings and on the persons who were there and on whoever touched the bone, or the slain or the dead or the grave.

²⁶ And ^(A)they judged the people at all times. Any hard case they brought to Moses, but any small matter they decided themselves.

¹⁹ Now obey my voice; I will give you advice, and God be with you! You shall ^(A)represent the people before God and ^(B)bring their cases to God,
