⁸⁹ And when Moses went into the tent of meeting ^(A)to speak with the Lord, he heard ^(B)the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and it spoke to him.

^16 (A)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The Lord Our God Is Holy

⁹ When Moses entered the tent, the ^(A)pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the Lord^[a] would speak with Moses. ¹⁰ And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, each at his tent door. ¹¹ Thus ^(B)the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his ^(C)assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

Restore Us, O God

To the choirmaster: according to ^(A)Lilies. A Testimony. Of ^(B)Asaph, a Psalm.

¹⁸ And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of ^(A)hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. ¹⁹ Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. ^(B)Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. ^20 (C)The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. ²¹ And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. ^22 (D)There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from ^(E)between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

^12 (A)It was revealed to them that ^(B)they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you ^(C)by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, ^(D)things into which angels long to look.

^23 (A)In the inner sanctuary ^(B)he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high.

⁴ So the people sent to Shiloh and brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, ^(A)who is enthroned on the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
