Numbers 33
English Standard Version
Recounting Israel's Journey
33 These are the stages of the people of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt by their companies under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. 2 Moses wrote down their starting places, (A)stage by stage, by command of the Lord, and these are their stages according to their starting places. 3 They (B)set out from Rameses in (C)the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the day after the Passover, the people of Israel went out (D)triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians, 4 while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, (E)whom the Lord had struck down among them. (F)On their gods also the Lord executed judgments.
5 So the people of Israel set out from Rameses and camped at (G)Succoth. 6 And they set out from Succoth and camped at (H)Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness. 7 And they set out from Etham and turned back to (I)Pi-hahiroth, which is east of Baal-zephon, and they camped before Migdol. 8 And they set out from before Hahiroth[a] and (J)passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and they (K)went a three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham and camped at Marah. 9 And they set out from Marah and came to (L)Elim; at Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there. 10 And they set out from Elim and camped by the Red Sea. 11 And they set out from the Red Sea and camped in (M)the wilderness of Sin. 12 And they set out from the wilderness of Sin and camped at Dophkah. 13 And they set out from Dophkah and camped at Alush. 14 And they set out from Alush and camped at (N)Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink. 15 And they set out from Rephidim and camped in the (O)wilderness of Sinai. 16 And they set out from the wilderness of Sinai and camped at (P)Kibroth-hattaavah. 17 And they set out from Kibroth-hattaavah and camped at (Q)Hazeroth. 18 And they (R)set out from Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah. 19 And they set out from Rithmah and camped at Rimmon-perez. 20 And they set out from Rimmon-perez and camped at Libnah. 21 And they set out from Libnah and camped at Rissah. 22 And they set out from Rissah and camped at Kehelathah. 23 And they set out from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher. 24 And they set out from Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah. 25 And they set out from Haradah and camped at Makheloth. 26 And they set out from Makheloth and camped at Tahath. 27 And they set out from Tahath and camped at Terah. 28 And they set out from Terah and camped at Mithkah. 29 And they set out from Mithkah and camped at Hashmonah. 30 And they set out from Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth. 31 And they set out from Moseroth and camped at (S)Bene-jaakan. 32 And they set out from Bene-jaakan and camped at (T)Hor-haggidgad. 33 And they set out from Hor-haggidgad and camped at (U)Jotbathah. 34 And they set out from Jotbathah and camped at Abronah. 35 And they set out from Abronah and camped at (V)Ezion-geber. 36 And they set out from Ezion-geber and camped in the (W)wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh). 37 And they set out from (X)Kadesh and camped at (Y)Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom.
38 And Aaron the priest went up (Z)Mount Hor at the command of the Lord and died there, in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. 39 And Aaron was (AA)123 years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40 And (AB)the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Negeb in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the people of Israel.
41 And they set out from Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah. 42 And they set out from Zalmonah and camped at Punon. 43 And they set out from Punon and camped at (AC)Oboth. 44 And they set out from Oboth and camped at (AD)Iye-abarim, in the territory of Moab. 45 And they set out from Iyim and camped at (AE)Dibon-gad. 46 And they set out from Dibon-gad and camped at Almon-diblathaim. 47 And they set out from Almon-diblathaim (AF)and camped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. 48 And they set out from the mountains of Abarim and camped in (AG)the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho; 49 they camped by the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth as far as (AH)Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.
Drive Out the Inhabitants
50 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, 51 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, (AI)When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 52 then (AJ)you shall drive out (AK)all the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their (AL)figured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places. 53 And you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. 54 (AM)You shall inherit the land by lot according to your clans. (AN)To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. Wherever the lot falls for anyone, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit. 55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as (AO)barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. 56 And I will do to you (AP)as I thought to do to them.”

English Standard Version
18 Whoever (A)isolates himself seeks his own desire;
he breaks out against all sound judgment.
2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only (B)in expressing his opinion.
3 When wickedness comes, contempt comes also,
and with dishonor comes disgrace.
4 The words of a man's mouth are (C)deep waters;
the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.
5 It is not good to (D)be partial to[a] the wicked
or to (E)deprive the righteous of justice.
6 A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites (F)a beating.
7 (G)A fool's mouth is his ruin,
and his lips are a snare to his soul.
8 (H)The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into (I)the inner parts of the body.
9 Whoever is slack in his work
is a (J)brother to him who destroys.
10 (K)The name of the Lord is (L)a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and (M)is safe.
11 (N)A rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and like a high wall in his imagination.
12 (O)Before destruction a man's heart is haughty,
but (P)humility comes before honor.
13 If one gives an answer (Q)before he hears,
it is his folly and shame.
14 A man's spirit will endure sickness,
but (R)a crushed spirit who can bear?
15 An intelligent heart acquires knowledge,
and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
16 A man's (S)gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great.
17 The one who states his case first seems right,
until the other comes and examines him.
18 (T)The lot puts an end to quarrels
and decides between powerful contenders.
19 A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city,
and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.
20 (U)From the fruit of a man's mouth his stomach is satisfied;
he is satisfied by the yield of his lips.
21 (V)Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits.
22 He who finds (W)a wife finds (X)a good thing
and (Y)obtains favor (Z)from the Lord.
23 The poor use entreaties,
but (AA)the rich answer roughly.
24 A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but (AB)there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

The First Beast
13 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, (A)with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and (B)blasphemous names on its heads. 2 And the beast that I saw was (C)like a leopard; its feet were like (D)a bear's, and its mouth was like (E)a lion's mouth. And to it (F)the dragon gave his power and (G)his throne and great authority. 3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and (H)the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. 4 And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, (I)“Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?”
5 And the beast was given (J)a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for (K)forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling,[a] that is, those who dwell in heaven. 7 Also it was allowed (L)to make war on the saints and to conquer them.[b] And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, 8 and all (M)who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in (N)the book of life of (O)the Lamb (P)who was slain. 9 (Q)If anyone has an ear, let him hear:
10 (R)If anyone is to be taken captive,
to captivity he goes;
(S)if anyone is to be slain with the sword,
with the sword must he be slain.
(T)Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
The Second Beast
11 Then (U)I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence,[c] and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, (V)whose mortal wound was healed. 13 (W)It performs great signs, even (X)making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, 14 and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of[d] the beast (Y)it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast (Z)that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not (AA)worship the image of the beast (AB)to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,[e] (AC)to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, (AD)the name of the beast or (AE)the number of its name. 18 (AF)This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number (AG)of a man, and his number is 666.[f]
The Lamb and the 144,000
14 Then I looked, and behold, on (AH)Mount Zion (AI)stood the Lamb, and with him (AJ)144,000 who (AK)had his name and his Father's name written (AL)on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven (AM)like the roar of many waters and (AN)like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of (AO)harpists playing on their harps, 3 and they were singing (AP)a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. (AQ)No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for (AR)they are virgins. It is these (AS)who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as (AT)firstfruits for God and the Lamb, 5 and (AU)in their mouth no lie was found, for they are (AV)blameless.
The Messages of the Three Angels
6 Then I saw another angel (AW)flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to (AX)those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, (AY)“Fear God and (AZ)give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and (BA)worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the (BB)springs of water.”
8 Another angel, a second, followed, saying, (BC)“Fallen, fallen is (BD)Babylon the great, (BE)she who made all nations drink (BF)the wine of the passion[g] of her sexual immorality.”
9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone (BG)worships the beast and its image and receives (BH)a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink (BI)the wine of God's wrath, (BJ)poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and (BK)he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And (BL)the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and (BM)they have no rest, day or night, these (BN)worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
12 (BO)Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who (BP)keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.[h]
13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: (BQ)Blessed are the dead (BR)who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, (BS)“that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”
The Harvest of the Earth
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one (BT)like a son of man, (BU)with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 And another angel (BV)came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, (BW)“Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for (BX)the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” 16 So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.
17 Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, (BY)the angel who has authority over the fire, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Put in your sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, (BZ)for its grapes are ripe.” 19 So the angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great (CA)winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And (CB)the winepress was trodden (CC)outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress, as high as (CD)a horse's bridle, for 1,600 stadia.[i]
The Seven Angels with Seven Plagues
15 Then (CE)I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, (CF)seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.
2 And I saw (CG)what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those (CH)who had conquered the beast and its image and (CI)the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass (CJ)with harps of God in their hands. 3 And they sing (CK)the song of Moses, (CL)the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
(CM)“Great and amazing are your deeds,
O Lord God the Almighty!
(CN)Just and true are your ways,
O King of the nations![j]
4 (CO)Who will not fear, O Lord,
and glorify your name?
For you alone are (CP)holy.
(CQ)All nations will come
and worship you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
5 After this I looked, and (CR)the sanctuary of (CS)the tent[k] of witness in heaven was opened, 6 and out of the sanctuary came (CT)the seven angels with the seven plagues, clothed in pure, bright (CU)linen, (CV)with golden sashes around their chests. 7 And one of (CW)the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven (CX)golden bowls full of the wrath of God (CY)who lives forever and ever, 8 and (CZ)the sanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and (DA)no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
