⁵⁰ From the firstborn of the Israelites^(A) he collected silver weighing 1,365 shekels,^[a](B) according to the sanctuary shekel.

⁴⁶ To redeem^(A) the 273 firstborn Israelites who exceed the number of the Levites, ⁴⁷ collect five shekels^[a](B) for each one, according to the sanctuary shekel,^(C) which weighs twenty gerahs.^(D)

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once^(A) for sins,^(B) the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.^(C) He was put to death in the body^(D) but made alive in the Spirit.^(E)

¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed^(A) from the empty way of life^(B) handed down to you from your ancestors,

¹² He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves;^(A) but he entered the Most Holy Place^(B) once for all^(C) by his own blood,^(D) thus obtaining^[a] eternal redemption.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us^(A) to redeem us from all wickedness^(B) and to purify^(C) for himself a people that are his very own,^(D) eager to do what is good.^(E)

⁵ For there is one God^(A) and one mediator^(B) between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,^{(C) 6} who gave himself as a ransom^(D) for all people. This has now been witnessed to^(E) at the proper time.^(F)

²⁸ just as the Son of Man^(A) did not come to be served, but to serve,^(B) and to give his life as a ransom^(C) for many.”
