³⁶ When Balak heard that Balaam had come, he went out to meet him at the city of Moab, ^(A)on the border formed by the Arnon, at the extremity of the border.

¹⁵ And ^(A)the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing them, ^(B)Paul thanked God and took courage.

¹⁸ “Then they journeyed through the wilderness and ^(A)went around the land of Edom and the land of Moab and ^(B)arrived on the east side of the land of Moab and ^(C)camped on the other side of the Arnon. But they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the boundary of Moab.

⁸ So we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon

²⁴ ‘Rise up, set out on your journey and ^(A)go over the Valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of ^(B)Heshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession, and ^(C)contend with him in battle.

¹³ From there they set out and camped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that extends from the border of the Amorites, for the ^(A)Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites. ¹⁴ Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of the Lord,

⁷ Moses ^(A)went out to meet his father-in-law and bowed down and ^(B)kissed him. And they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.

²⁹ Then Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to meet Israel his father in Goshen. He presented himself to him and ^(A)fell on his neck and wept on his neck a good while.
