^8 (A)“Take the staff, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to yield its water. So ^(B)you shall bring water out of the rock for them and give drink to the congregation and their cattle.”

¹⁷ And take in your hand ^(A)this staff, with which you shall do the signs.”

⁵ And the Lord said to Moses, “Pass on before the people, taking with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the staff with ^(A)which you struck the Nile, and go. ^6 (B)Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel.

¹⁷ The Spirit and ^(A)the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And ^(B)let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the ^(C)water of life without price.

The River of Life

22 Then the angel^[a] showed me ^(A)the river of ^(B)the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

The Coming of the Holy Spirit

2 When ^(A)the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. ² And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like ^(B)a mighty rushing wind, and ^(C)it filled the entire house where they were sitting. ³ And divided tongues ^(D)as of fire appeared to them and rested^[a] on each one of them. ⁴ And they were all ^(E)filled with the Holy Spirit and began ^(F)to speak in other tongues ^(G)as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹⁴ All these ^(A)with one accord ^(B)were devoting themselves to prayer, together with ^(C)the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and ^(D)his brothers.^[a]

²⁴ Until now you have asked nothing in my name. ^(A)Ask, and you will receive, ^(B)that your joy may be full.
