²² From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die.^(A)

⁹ “‘The priests are to perform my service^(A) in such a way that they do not become guilty^(B) and die^(C) for treating it with contempt. I am the Lord, who makes them holy.^(D)

⁷ But only you and your sons may serve as priests in connection with everything at the altar and inside the curtain.^(A) I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift.^(B) Anyone else who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death.^(C)”

³⁸ Moses and Aaron and his sons were to camp to the east^(A) of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, in front of the tent of meeting.^(B) They were responsible for the care of the sanctuary^(C) on behalf of the Israelites. Anyone else who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.^(D)

¹⁰ Appoint Aaron^(A) and his sons to serve as priests;^(B) anyone else who approaches the sanctuary is to be put to death.”^(C)

⁵¹ Whenever the tabernacle^(A) is to move,^(B) the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it.^(C) Anyone else who approaches it is to be put to death.^{(D) 52} The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each of them in their own camp under their standard.^(E)

²⁰ “‘If a man has sexual relations with his aunt,^(A) he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.^(B)
