²⁶ From the ^(A)children of Judah, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

^19 (A)The sons of Judah were Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. ²⁰ And ^(B)the sons of Judah according to their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites. ²¹ And the sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites. ²² These are the families of Judah according to those who were numbered of them: seventy-six thousand five hundred.

³⁵ And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she called his name ^(A)Judah.^[a] Then she stopped bearing.

⁹ Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to the king. ^(A)And there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

^2 (A)Abraham begot Isaac, ^(B)Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot ^(C)Judah and his brothers.

¹⁴ These are their numbers, according to their fathers’ houses. Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor; ¹⁵ and next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand; ¹⁶ and next to him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, ^(A)who willingly offered himself to the Lord, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.

² yet ^(A)Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a ^(B)ruler, although ^[a]the birthright was Joseph’s—

³ On the ^(A)east side, toward the rising of the sun, those of the standard of the forces with Judah shall camp according to their armies; and ^(B)Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be the leader of the children of Judah.” ⁴ And his army was numbered at seventy-four thousand six hundred.
