^30 (A)However, You bore with them for many years,
And ^(B)testified to them by ^(C)Your Spirit by the hand of Your prophets,
Yet they would not give ear.
So You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
³¹ Nevertheless, in Your abundant compassion You ^(D)did not make a complete destruction of them or forsake them,
For You are ^(E)a gracious and compassionate God.

³⁸ But He, being ^(A)compassionate, ^(B)atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them;
And He abounded in ^(C)turning back His anger
And did not arouse all His wrath.

⁸ Yahweh is ^(A)compassionate and gracious,
^(B)Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
⁹ He ^(C)will not always contend with us,
And He will not ^(D)keep His anger forever.
¹⁰ He has ^(E)not dealt with us according to our sins,
And He has not rewarded us according to our iniquities.
