⁸ and said to them, “As far as we were able, we have bought back our Jewish kindred who had been sold to other nations, but now you are selling your own kin, who must then be bought back by us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say.^(A)

⁴⁷ “If resident aliens among you prosper, and if any of your kin fall into difficulty with one of them and sell themselves to an alien or to a branch of the alien’s family, ⁴⁸ even after they have sold themselves they shall have the right of redemption; one of their brothers may redeem them,^{(A) 49} or their uncle or their uncle’s son may redeem them, or anyone of their family who is of their own flesh may redeem them, or if they prosper they may redeem themselves.^(B)

¹⁰ So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all and especially for those of the family of faith.^(A)

¹² For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.^(A)

¹¹ So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister for whom Christ died is destroyed.^(A)

¹⁵ If your brother or sister is distressed by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not let what you eat cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died.

¹⁹ Now we know that, whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.^(A)

²⁹ For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance, but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.^(A)
