Micah 5:2-5
English Standard Version
2 [a] (A)But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of (B)Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be (C)ruler in Israel,
(D)whose coming forth is (E)from of old,
from ancient days.
3 Therefore he shall give them up (F)until the time
when she who is in labor has given birth;
then (G)the rest of his brothers shall return
to the people of Israel.
4 And he shall stand (H)and shepherd his flock (I)in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now (J)he shall be great
to the ends of the earth.
5 And he shall be (K)their peace.
(L)When the Assyrian comes into our land
and treads in our palaces,
then we will raise against him seven (M)shepherds
and eight princes of men;

The Visit of the Wise Men
2 Now (A)after Jesus was born in (B)Bethlehem of Judea (C)in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men[a] from (D)the east came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is he who has been born (E)king of the Jews? For we saw (F)his star when it rose[b] and have come to (G)worship him.” 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; 4 and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where (H)the Christ was to be born. 5 They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:
6 (I)“‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for from you shall come a ruler
who will (J)shepherd my people Israel.’”

English Standard Version
27 But (A)God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; (B)God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even (C)things that are not, to (D)bring to nothing things that are, 29 so (E)that no human being[a] might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him[b] you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us (F)wisdom from God, (G)righteousness and (H)sanctification and (I)redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, (J)“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
