⁹ then those of you who escape ^(A)will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how ^(B)I have been broken over their whoring heart that has departed from me and over their eyes ^(C)that go whoring after their idols. ^(D)And they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations.

^25 (A)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(B)all your uncleannesses, and ^(C)from all your idols ^(D)I will cleanse you.

Idolatry Cut Off

² “And ^(A)on that day, declares the Lord of hosts, ^(B)I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that ^(C)they shall be remembered no more. And also ^(D)I will remove from the land the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness.

¹⁶ “And ^(A)in that day, declares the Lord, you will call me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer will you call me ‘My Baal.’ ¹⁷ For ^(B)I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be remembered by name no more.

^23 (A)They shall not ^(B)defile themselves anymore ^(C)with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But ^(D)I will save them from all the backslidings^[a] in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and ^(E)they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

^7 (A)In that day man will look to his Maker, and his eyes will look on the Holy One of Israel. ^8 (B)He will not look to the altars, the work of his hands, and he will not look on what his own fingers have made, either the ^(C)Asherim or the altars of incense.
