Magandang Balita Biblia

15 Ang malumanay na sagot, nakapapawi ng galit,
    ngunit sa tugong marahas, poot ay hindi mawawaglit.
2 Ang dila ng may unawa ay nagbubunga ng kaalaman,
    ngunit ang bibig ng mangmang ay bukal ng kahangalan.
3 Ang paningin ni Yahweh ay nakatuon sa lahat ng lugar,
    ang masama at mabuti ay pawang minamasdan.
4 Ang magiliw na salita ay nagpapasigla sa buhay,
    ngunit ang matalas na pangungusap ay masakit sa kalooban.
5 Di pansin ng mangmang ang turo ng kanyang ama,
    ngunit dinirinig ng may isip ang paalala sa kanya.
6 Ang tahanan ng matuwid ay puno ng kayamanan,
    ngunit ang masama'y nagkukulang sa lahat ng kailangan.
7 Ang labi ng may unawa ay nagkakalat ng karunungan,
    ngunit hindi ganoon ang hangad ng isang mangmang.
8 Kasuklam-suklam kay Yahweh ang handog ng masama,
    ngunit sa panalangin ng matuwid siya ay natutuwa.
9 Sa gawaing masama, si Yahweh ay namumuhi,
    ngunit kanyang minamahal ang sa katuwiran lumalagi.
10 Ang gumawa ng masama ay tatanggap ng parusa,
    at tiyak na mamamatay ang ayaw ng paalala.
11 Kung paanong ang daigdig ng mga patay ay hayag kay Yahweh,
    ang laman ng puso sa kanya'y di maikukubli.
12 Ayaw mapagsasabihan ang mga palalo,
    at sa matatalino'y di hihingi ng payo.
13 Ang taong masayahin ay laging nakangiti,
    ngunit ang may lumbay ay wari bang nakangiwi.
14 Ang taong may unawa ay naghahangad pa ng karunungan,
    ngunit ang mangmang ay nasisiyahan na sa kanyang kahangalan.
15 Lahat ng araw ng mahirap ay puno ng pakikipagbaka,
    ngunit ang masayahin, saganang piging ang kagaya.
16 Ang mahirap na gumagalang at sumusunod kay Yahweh,
    ay mas mainam kaysa mayamang panay hirap naman ang kalooban.
17 Mas masarap ang isang plato ng gulay na inihaing may pag-ibig
    kaysa isang matabang baka na inihaing may galit.
18 Ang mainit na ulo ay humahantong sa alitan,
    ngunit pumapayapa sa kaguluhan ang mahinahong isipan.
19 Ang landas ng batugan ay punung-puno ng tinik,
    ngunit patag na lansangan ang daan ng matuwid.
20 Ang anak na may unawa ay kaligayahan ng isang ama,
    ngunit ang isang mangmang ay kahihiyan ng kanyang ina.
21 Ang mga walang isip ay natutuwa sa mga bagay na kahangalan,
    ngunit lumalakad nang matuwid ang taong may kaalaman.
22 Ang isang balak na mabilis ay di papakinabangan,
    ngunit ang planong pinag-aralan ay magtatagumpay.
23 Ang matalinong pananalita ay nagdudulot ng kasiyahan,
    at ang salitang angkop sa pagkakataon, may dulot na pakinabang.
24 Sa mga marunong, ang daan ng buhay ay pataas,
    upang maiwasan ang daigdig ng mga patay.
25 Wawasakin ni Yahweh ang bahay ng hambog,
    ngunit ang tahanan ng isang biyuda ay iingatan ng Diyos.
26 Kasuklam-suklam kay Yahweh ang iniisip ng masama,
    ngunit kasiyahan niya ang pangungusap ng may malinis na diwa.
27 Ang gahaman sa salapi ay nauuwi sa kaguluhan,
    ngunit ang tumatanggi sa suhol ay mabubuhay nang matagal.
28 Tinitimbang ng matuwid kung ano ang sasabihin,
    ngunit di na iniisip ng masama ang kanyang sasalitain.
29 Pinapakinggan ni Yahweh ang daing ng matuwid,
    ngunit ang panawagan ng masama ay hindi dinirinig.
30 Ang masayang ngiti sa puso ay kasiyahan,
    at ang mabuting balita ay may dulot na kalusugan.
31 Ang marunong makinig sa paalala
    ay mayroong unawa at mabuting pasya.
32 Ipinapahamak ang sarili ng ayaw makinig sa pangaral,
    ngunit ang nagpapahalaga sa paalala ay nagdaragdag ng kaalaman.
33 Ang paggalang at pagsunod kay Yahweh ay nagtuturo ng karunungan,
    at ang pagpapakumbaba ay nagbubunga ng karangalan.

A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath

15 A (A)soft answer turns away wrath,
But (B)a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,
(C)But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.

3 (D)The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Keeping watch on the evil and the good.

4 A [a]wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

5 (E)A fool despises his father’s instruction,
(F)But he who [b]receives correction is prudent.

6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure,
But in the revenue of the wicked is trouble.

7 The lips of the wise [c]disperse knowledge,
But the heart of the fool does not do so.

8 (G)The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But He loves him who (H)follows righteousness.

10 (I)Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way,
And (J)he who hates correction will die.

11 (K)Hell[d] and [e]Destruction are before the Lord;
So how much more (L)the hearts of the sons of men.

12 (M)A scoffer does not love one who corrects him,
Nor will he go to the wise.

13 (N)A merry heart makes a cheerful [f]countenance,
But (O)by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

14 The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge,
But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil,
(P)But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.

16 (Q)Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
Than great treasure with trouble.
17 (R)Better is a dinner of [g]herbs where love is,
Than a fatted calf with hatred.

18 (S)A wrathful man stirs up strife,
But he who is slow to anger allays contention.

19 (T)The way of the lazy man is like a hedge of thorns,
But the way of the upright is a highway.

20 (U)A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.

21 (V)Folly is joy to him who is destitute of [h]discernment,
(W)But a man of understanding walks uprightly.

22 (X)Without counsel, plans go awry,
But in the multitude of counselors they are established.

23 A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And (Y)a word spoken [i]in due season, how good it is!

24 (Z)The way of life winds upward for the wise,
That he may (AA)turn away from [j]hell below.

25 (AB)The Lord will destroy the house of the proud,
But (AC)He will establish the boundary of the widow.

26 (AD)The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord,
(AE)But the words of the pure are pleasant.

27 (AF)He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house,
But he who hates bribes will live.

28 The heart of the righteous (AG)studies how to answer,
But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil.

29 (AH)The Lord is far from the wicked,
But (AI)He hears the prayer of the righteous.

30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
And a good report makes the bones [k]healthy.

31 The ear that hears the rebukes of life
Will abide among the wise.
32 He who disdains instruction despises his own soul,
But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding.
33 (AJ)The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
And (AK)before honor is humility.

New International Version

15 A gentle answer(A) turns away wrath,(B)
    but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,(C)
    but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.(D)

3 The eyes(E) of the Lord are everywhere,(F)
    keeping watch on the wicked and the good.(G)

4 The soothing tongue(H) is a tree of life,(I)
    but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.(J)

5 A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
    but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.(K)

6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure,(L)
    but the income of the wicked brings ruin.(M)

7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge,(N)
    but the hearts of fools are not upright.

8 The Lord detests the sacrifice(O) of the wicked,(P)
    but the prayer of the upright pleases him.(Q)

9 The Lord detests the way of the wicked,(R)
    but he loves those who pursue righteousness.(S)

10 Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;
    the one who hates correction will die.(T)

12 Mockers resent correction,(W)
    so they avoid the wise.

13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful,(X)
    but heartache crushes the spirit.(Y)

14 The discerning heart seeks knowledge,(Z)
    but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
    but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.(AA)

16 Better a little with the fear of the Lord
    than great wealth with turmoil.(AB)

17 Better a small serving of vegetables with love
    than a fattened calf with hatred.(AC)

18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict,(AD)
    but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.(AE)

19 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,(AF)
    but the path of the upright is a highway.

20 A wise son brings joy to his father,(AG)
    but a foolish man despises his mother.

21 Folly brings joy to one who has no sense,(AH)
    but whoever has understanding keeps a straight course.

22 Plans fail for lack of counsel,(AI)
    but with many advisers(AJ) they succeed.(AK)

23 A person finds joy in giving an apt reply(AL)—
    and how good is a timely word!(AM)

24 The path of life leads upward for the prudent
    to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead.

25 The Lord tears down the house of the proud,(AN)
    but he sets the widow’s boundary stones in place.(AO)

26 The Lord detests the thoughts(AP) of the wicked,(AQ)
    but gracious words are pure(AR) in his sight.

27 The greedy bring ruin to their households,
    but the one who hates bribes will live.(AS)

28 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers,(AT)
    but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.(AU)

29 The Lord is far from the wicked,
    but he hears the prayer of the righteous.(AV)

30 Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
    and good news gives health to the bones.(AW)

31 Whoever heeds life-giving correction
    will be at home among the wise.(AX)

32 Those who disregard discipline despise themselves,(AY)
    but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.(AZ)

33 Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,(BA)
