7 Nagtanong ang Kataas-taasang Pari, “Totoo ba ang mga ito?” 2 Sumagot (A) si Esteban, “Mga kapatid at mga magulang, pakinggan po ninyo ako. Ang Diyos ng kaluwalhatian ay nagpakita sa ating amang si Abraham noong siya'y nasa Mesopotamia, bago siya nanirahan sa Haran. 3 Sinabi sa kanya ng Diyos, ‘Iwan mo ang iyong lupain at ang iyong mga kamag-anak at pumunta ka sa lupaing ipapakita ko sa iyo.’ 4 Kaya (B) umalis siya sa lupain ng mga Caldeo at nanirahan sa Haran. Pagkamatay ng kanyang ama, pinalipat siya ng Diyos sa lupaing inyong tinitirhan ngayon. 5 Gayunma'y hindi (C) siya binigyan dito ng anumang pamana, kahit man lamang kapirasong lupa. Subalit ipinangako na ibibigay iyon sa kanya at sa kanyang binhing kasunod niya bagaman wala pa siyang anak noon. 6 Ganito (D) ang sinabi ng Diyos: ‘Ang iyong binhi ay maninirahan sa ibang lupain, at sila'y aalipinin at aapihin doon nang apatnaraang taon. 7 Ngunit (E) parurusahan ko ang bansang aalipin sa kanila,’ wika ng Diyos. ‘Pagkatapos ng mga ito ay lalabas sila at sasambahin nila ako sa dakong ito.’ 8 Pagkatapos (F) ay ibinigay niya sa kanya ang tipan ng pagtutuli. At si Abraham ay naging ama ni Isaac, at ito'y tinuli nang ikawalong araw; at si Isaac ay naging ama ni Jacob, at si Jacob ng labindalawang patriyarka.
9 “Dahil sa inggit ng mga patriyarka kay Jose, siya'y kanilang ipinagbili sa Ehipto. (G) Ngunit kasama niya ang Diyos, 10 at iniligtas siya (H)sa lahat ng kanyang kapighatian. Pinagpala siya ng Diyos at binigyan ng karunungan sa harapan ng Faraon na hari ng Ehipto. Ibig sana niyang sila'y pagkasunduin kaya sinabing, ‘Mga ginoo, kayo'y magkapatid; bakit sinasaktan ninyo ang isa't isa?’ 27 Ngunit itinulak siya ng nanakit sa kapwa, at nagsabing, ‘Sino'ng nagsabing ikaw ay pinuno at hukom namin? 28 Gusto mo ba akong patayin, gaya ng pagpatay mo kahapon sa Ehipcio?’ 29 Nang (S) marinig ito ni Moises, tumakas siya at nanirahan na isang dayuhan sa lupain ng Midian, at doo'y nagkaroon ng dalawang anak na lalaki.

43 Dinala ninyo ang tolda ni Moloc,
at ang bituin ng diyos ninyong si Refan,
ang mga larawang ginawa ninyo upang inyong sambahin;
at itatapon ko kayo sa kabila pa ng Babilonia.’
44 “Nasa (AB)ating mga ninuno sa ilang ang tolda ng patotoo, na ipinagawa ng Diyos na nagsalita kay Moises, ayon sa huwarang kanyang nakita. 45 Dinala (AC) rin ito ng ating mga ninunong kasama ni Josue nang kanilang sakupin ang mga bansang pinalayas ng Diyos sa kanilang harapan. Nanatili ito roon hanggang sa panahon ni David. 46 Kinalugdan ng Diyos si David, (AD) at hiniling niyang makakita ng isang tahanan para sa Diyos ni Jacob.[e] 47 Subalit (AE) si Solomon ang nagtayo ng bahay para sa kanya. 48 Gayunman, ang Kataas-taasang Diyos ay hindi nananahan sa mga bahay na gawa ng tao. Sabi nga ng propeta,
49 ‘Ang (AF) langit ang aking luklukan,
at ang lupa ang aking tuntungan.
Sabi ng Panginoon, ‘Sa aki'y anong uri ang itatayo ninyong bahay,
o anong dako ang aking pahingahan?
50 Hindi ba kamay ko ang gumawa ng lahat ng mga ito?’
51 “Kayong (AG) matitigas ang ulo at mga bingi sa katotohanan![f] Lagi kayong sumasalungat sa Banal na Espiritu. Kung ano ang ginawa ng inyong mga ninuno, gayundin ang ginagawa ninyo. 52 Sino sa mga propeta ang hindi inusig ng inyong mga ninuno? Pinatay nila ang mga nagpahayag noong una tungkol sa pagdating ng Matuwid, na inyo namang ipinagkanulo at ipinapatay. 53 Tinanggap ninyo ang Kautusan ayon sa pangangasiwa ng mga anghel, ngunit hindi ninyo ito tinupad.”

54 Nang marinig nila ang mga ito, nagalit sila at nagngalit ang kanilang mga ngipin laban kay Esteban.[g] 55 Subalit si Esteban, na puspos ng Banal na Espiritu, ay tumitig sa langit, at nakita niya ang kaluwalhatian ng Diyos, at si Jesus na nakatayo sa kanan ng Diyos. 56 Sinabi niya, “Tingnan ninyo! Nakikita kong bukás ang kalangitan at ang Anak ng Tao na nakatindig sa kanan ng Diyos.” 57 Subalit nagtakip sila ng kanilang mga tainga at nagsigawan nang malakas at sama-samang sumugod sa kanya. 58 Pagkatapos, siya'y kinaladkad nila palabas ng lungsod at doo'y pinagbabato. 7 And the high priest said, “Are these things so?” 2 And Stephen said:
(A)“Brothers and fathers, hear me. (B)The God (C)of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, (D)before he lived in Haran, 3 and said to him, (E)‘Go out from your land and from your kindred and go into the land that I will show you.’ 4 (F)Then he went out from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. And (G)after his father died, (H)God removed him from there into this land in which you are now living. 5 Yet he gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot's length, but promised (I)to give it to him as a possession and to his offspring after him, (J)though he had no child. 6 And God spoke to this effect—that (K)his offspring would (L)be sojourners in a land belonging to others, who would enslave them and afflict them (M)four hundred years. 7 ‘But (N)I will judge the nation that they serve,’ said God, ‘and after that they shall come out (O)and worship me in this place.’ 8 And (P)he gave him the covenant of circumcision. And (Q)so Abraham became the father of Isaac, and (R)circumcised him on the eighth day, and (S)Isaac became the father of Jacob, and (T)Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

And he was brought up for three months in his father's house, 21 and (AR)when he was exposed, Pharaoh's daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own son. 22 And Moses (AS)was instructed in (AT)all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was (AU)mighty in his words and deeds.
23 “When he was forty years old, it came into his heart (AV)to visit his brothers, the children of Israel. 24 And seeing one of them being wronged, he defended the oppressed man and avenged him by striking down the Egyptian. 25 He supposed that his brothers would understand that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not understand. 26 (AW)And on the following day he appeared to them as they were quarreling and tried to reconcile them, saying, ‘Men, you are brothers. Why do you wrong each other?’ 27 But the man who was wronging his neighbor thrust him aside, saying, (AX)‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’ 29 At this retort (AY)Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, (AZ)where he became the father of two sons.
30 “Now when forty years had passed, (BA)an angel appeared to him (BB)in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and as he drew near to look, there came the voice of the Lord: 32 (BC)‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and did not dare to look. 33 Then the Lord said to him, (BD)‘Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. 34 (BE)I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and (BF)have heard their groaning, and (BG)I have come down to deliver them. (BH)And now come, I will send you to Egypt.’
35 “This Moses, whom they rejected, (BI)saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer (BJ)by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 (BK)This man led them out, performing (BL)wonders and signs (BM)in Egypt and (BN)at the Red Sea and (BO)in the wilderness for (BP)forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you (BQ)a prophet like me from your brothers.’ 38 This is the one (BR)who was in the congregation in the wilderness with (BS)the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. (BT)He received (BU)living (BV)oracles to give to us. 39 Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and (BW)in their hearts they turned to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, (BX)‘Make for us gods who will go before us. and I will send you into exile beyond Babylon.’
44 “Our fathers had (CH)the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as he who spoke to Moses (CI)directed him to make it, according to the pattern that he had seen. 45 Our fathers in turn (CJ)brought it in with Joshua when they (CK)dispossessed the nations (CL)that God drove out before our fathers. So it was (CM)until the days of David, 46 (CN)who found favor in the sight of God and (CO)asked to find a dwelling place for (CP)the God of Jacob.[a] 47 But it was (CQ)Solomon who built a house for him. 48 (CR)Yet the Most High does not dwell (CS)in houses made by hands, as the prophet says,
49 (CT)“‘Heaven is my throne,
(CU)and the earth is my footstool.
What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord,
or what is the place of my rest?
50 Did not my hand make all these things?’
51 (CV)“You stiff-necked people, (CW)uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. (CX)As your fathers did, so do you. 52 (CY)Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of (CZ)the Righteous One, (DA)whom you have now betrayed and murdered, 53 you who received the law (DB)as delivered by angels and (DC)did not keep it.”

54 Now when they heard these things (DD)they were enraged, and they (DE)ground their teeth at him. 55 But he, (DF)full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw (DG)the glory of God, and Jesus standing (DH)at the right hand of God. 56 And he said, “Behold, I see (DI)the heavens opened, and (DJ)the Son of Man standing (DK)at the right hand of God.” 57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together[b] at him. 58 Then (DL)they cast him out of the city and (DM)stoned him. 28 Gen lè ou vle touye m' menm jan ou te touye moun peyi Lejip ayè a?
29 Lè Moyiz tande pawòl sa yo, li kouri kite peyi a, li al viv nan peyi Madyan. Antan l' te la, li fè de pitit gason.
30 ¶ Karantan apre sa, yon zanj Bondye parèt devan Moyiz nan yon flanm dife ki t'ap boule yon ti touf bwa nan mitan dezè ki bò Mòn Sinayi a.
31 Moyiz te sezi lè l' wè aparisyon sa a. Antan l' t'ap pwoche pou gade l' pi pre, li tande vwa Bondye ki t'ap di:
32 Se mwen menm ki Bondye zansèt ou yo, Bondye Abraram, Bondye Izarak ak Bondye Jakòb. Moyiz pran tranble sitèlman li te pè. Li pa menm louvri je l' pou l' gade.
33 Lè sa a Bondye di l' ankò: Wete sapat ou, paske kote ou ye a se yon tè ki apa pou Bondye.
34 Mwen wè tray pèp mwen an ap pase nan peyi Lejip, mwen tande jan li ap plenn, mwen desann vin delivre yo. Koulye a, ale non. Se mwen menm k'ap voye ou nan peyi Lejip.
35 Moun pèp Izrayèl yo te voye Moyiz jete lè yo te di: Kilès ki mete ou la pou ban nou lòd osinon pou jije nou? Se menm Moyiz sa a Bondye te voye pou kòmande yo, pou delivre yo avèk konkou zanj ki te parèt nan ti touf bwa a.
36 Se Moyiz ki fè pèp Izrayèl la soti kite peyi Lejip, avèk tout mirak ak tout bèl bagay li te fè nan peyi a bò lanmè Wouj la ak nan dezè a pandan karantan.
37 Se menm Moyiz sa a ki te di pèp Izrayèl la: Bondye gen pou l' voye yon pwofèt ban nou tankou l' te voye m' lan: se va yonn nan frè nou yo.
38 Se li menm ki te la ak pèp Izrayèl la lè yo te sanble nan gwo dezè a; li te la avèk zansèt nou yo ansanm ak zanj Bondye a ki t'ap pale avè l' sou gwo mòn Sinayi a. Se li menm ki te resevwa pawòl ki bay lavi a nan men Bondye epi ki pase yo ban nou.
39 Men, zansèt nou yo pa t' vle obeyi l'; yo mete l' sou kote, epi yo te anvi tounen Lejip.
40 Yo di Arawon: Fè lòt bondye ki pou mache devan nou, paske nou pa konnen sa ki rive nonm yo rele Moyiz la ki te fè nou soti kite peyi Lejip la.
41 Lè sa a, yo fè yon estati an fòm yon ti towo bèf, epi yo touye bèt ofri bay zidòl la. Yo te kontan pou sa yo te fè ak men yo a.
42 ¶ Men, Bondye vire do l' ba yo, li kite yo adore zetwal ki nan syèl la, jan sa te ekri nan Liv pwofèt yo: Nou menm pèp Izrayèl, èske se pou mwen nou te fè ofrann bèt ak lòt sakrifis, pandan karantan nou pase nan gwo dezè a?
43 Non, se pa t' pou mwen. Men, nou redi pote wogatwa zidòl Molòk la, ansanm ak pòtre zetwal Refan, bondye nou an, bann zidòl nou te fè ak men nou pou n' adore! Se poutèt sa, m'ap voye nou jouk lòt bò Babilòn.
44 Nan gwo dezè a, zansèt nou yo te gen yon tant kote yo te fèmen de wòch plat lalwa yo. Yo te fè l' jan Bondye te mande Moyiz pou l' fè l' la, dapre modèl li te moutre Moyiz la.
45 Yo pase tant sa a bay grandèt nou yo ki te vin apre. Grandèt nou yo menm te pote l' avèk yo lè Jozye t'ap mennen yo pou yo pran peyi a nan men pèp Bondye t'ap chase met deyò devan yo. Tant la rete la jouk sou tan David.
46 David te jwenn favè Bondye, li te mande l' pèmisyon pou l' te fè yon kay pou Bondye Jakòb la.
47 Men se Salomon ki te bati kay la pou li.
48 Men, Bondye ki anwo nan syèl la pa rete nan kay moun bati ak men yo. Men sa pwofèt la di:
49 Syèl la se fòtèy kote m' chita a. Se Bondye ki di sa. Tè a se yon ti ban pou m' lonje pye mwen. Ki kalite kay nou ta ka bati pou mwen? Ki kote nou ta ka ban mwen pou m' poze kò m'?
50 Eske se pa mwen ki fè tout bagay sa yo?
51 ¶ Ala moun gen tèt di! Tankou moun lòt nasyon yo, nou fèmen kè nou, nou fèmen zòrèy nou bay Bondye, n'ap kenbe tèt ak Sentespri toujou. Nou tankou zansèt nou yo.
52 Kilès nan pwofèt yo zansèt nou yo pa t' pèsekite? Yo te touye tout pwofèt ki te fè konnen davans ki jan Sèvitè Bondye a te gen pou vini. Koulye a, se Sèvitè Bondye a menm nou trayi, se li menm nou touye.
53 Se nou menm ki te resevwa lalwa Moyiz nan men zanj Bondye yo, epi se nou menm ankò ki pa obeyi li.
54 ¶ Lè manm Gran Konsèy yo tande pawòl sa yo, yo fin pran chenn, yo manje dan yo sou Etyèn sitèlman yo te an kolè.
55 Men Etyèn, anba pouvwa Sentespri, leve je l' anlè, li gade syèl la. Li wè tout bèl pouvwa Bondye a ansanm ak Jezi kanpe sou bò dwat Bondye.
56 Li di: Gade, men mwen wè syèl la louvri, ak Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a kanpe sou bò dwat Bondye.
57 Moun yo pran rele byen fò, yo bouche zòrèy yo. Epi yo tout tonbe sou li ansanm.
58 Yo trennen l' deyò lavil la. Yo touye l' ak kout wòch. Moun ki t'ap akize Etyèn yo te mete rad yo nan pye yon jenn gason yo te rele Sòl.
59 Pandan yo t'ap voye wòch sou Etyèn, Etyèn menm t'ap lapriyè, li t'ap di: Seyè Jezi, resevwa lespri mwen.
60 Apre sa, li tonbe ajenou, li rele byen fò: Seyè, pa mete peche sa a sou kont yo. Lè l' fin di sa, li mouri.
