122 Ako'y natuwa nang kanilang sabihin sa akin,
“Tayo na sa bahay ng Panginoon!”
2 Ang mga paa natin ay nakatayo
sa loob ng iyong mga pintuan, O Jerusalem;
3 Jerusalem, na natayo
na parang lunsod na siksikan;
4 na inaahon ng mga lipi,
ng mga lipi ng Panginoon,
gaya ng iniutos para sa Israel,
upang magpasalamat sa pangalan ng Panginoon.
5 Doo'y inilagay ang mga trono para sa paghatol,
ang mga trono ng sambahayan ni David.
6 Idalangin ninyo ang sa Jerusalem na kapayapaan!
“Guminhawa nawa silang sa iyo ay nagmamahal!
7 Magkaroon nawa sa loob ng inyong mga pader ng kapayapaan,
at sa loob ng iyong mga tore ay katiwasayan!”
8 Alang-alang sa aking mga kapatid at mga kaibigan,
aking sasabihin, “Sumainyo ang kapayapaan.”
9 Alang-alang sa bahay ng Panginoon nating Diyos,
hahanapin ko ang iyong ikabubuti.

122 Ako'y natutuwa nang kanilang sabihin sa akin, tayo'y magsiparoon sa bahay ng Panginoon.
2 Ang mga paa natin ay nagsisitayo sa loob ng iyong mga pintuang-bayan, Oh Jerusalem;
3 Jerusalem, na natayo na parang bayang siksikan:
4 Na inaahon ng mga lipi, sa makatuwid baga'y ng mga lipi ng Panginoon, na pinaka patotoo sa Israel, upang magpasalamat sa pangalan ng Panginoon.
5 Sapagka't doo'y nalagay ang mga luklukan na ukol sa kahatulan, ang mga luklukan ng sangbahayan ni David.
6 Idalangin ninyo ang kapayapaan ng Jerusalem: sila'y magsisiginhawa na nagsisiibig sa iyo.
7 Kapayapaan nawa ang sumaloob ng inyong mga kuta, at kaginhawahan sa loob ng iyong mga palasio.
8 Dahil sa aking mga kapatid at aking mga kasama, aking sasabihin ngayon, kapayapaan ang sumaiyong loob.

Psalm 122[a]
A song of ascents;[b] by David.
122 I was glad because[c] they said to me,
“We will go to the Lord’s temple.”
2 Our feet are[d] standing
inside your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is a city designed
to accommodate an assembly.[e]
4 The tribes go up[f] there,[g]
the tribes of the Lord,
where it is required that Israel
give thanks to the name of the Lord.[h]
5 Indeed,[i] the leaders sit[j] there on thrones and make legal decisions,
on the thrones of the house of David.[k]
6 Pray[l] for the peace of Jerusalem.
May those who love her prosper.[m]
7 May there be peace inside your defenses,
and prosperity[n] inside your fortresses.[o]
8 For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors
I will say, “May there be peace in you.”
9 For the sake of the temple of the Lord our God
I will pray for you to prosper.[p]

Perhaps worshipers recited these psalms when they ascended the road to Jerusalem to celebrate annual religious festivals. For a discussion of their background see L. C. - Psalm 122:1 tn Heb “in the ones saying to me.” After the verb שָׂמַח (samakh), the preposition ב (bet) usually introduces the reason for joy.

Many regard this as a description of the compact way in which the city was designed or constructed. The translation assumes an emendation of the verb חֻבְּרָה (khubberah, “is joined”) to a noun חֶבְרָה (khevrah, “association; company”). The text then reads literally, “Jerusalem, which is built like a city which has a company together.” This in turn can be taken as a reference to Jerusalem’s role as a city where people congregated for religious festivals and other civic occasions (see vv. 4-5).

2 Our feet have been standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem!
3 Jerusalem is built
As a city that is (B)compact together,
4 (C)Where the tribes go up,
The tribes of the Lord,
[a]To (D)the Testimony of Israel,
To give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 (E)For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.
6 (F)Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
7 Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
8 For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9 Because of the house of the Lord our God
