The First Lord’s Supper

²⁶ As they were eating,^(A) Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, gave it to the disciples,^(B) and said, “Take and eat it; this is My body.”^(C)

⁵² The tombs were also opened^(A) and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised.

⁵⁸ He approached Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Then Pilate ordered that it^[a] be released.

²² As^(A) they were eating, He took bread,^(B) blessed and broke^(C) it, gave it to them,^(D) and said, “Take it;^[a] this is My body.”^(E)

⁴³ Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Sanhedrin who was himself looking forward^(A) to the kingdom of God,^(B) came and boldly went in to Pilate^(C) and asked for Jesus’ body.^(D)

Fear God

⁴ “And I say to you, My friends,^(A) don’t fear^(B) those who kill the body, and after that can do nothing more.

¹⁹ And He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “This is My body,^(A) which is given for you. Do this in remembrance^(B) of Me.”

⁵² He approached Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.

⁵⁵ The women^(A) who had come with Him from Galilee followed along and observed the tomb and how His body was placed.
