No One Knows That Day and Hour

³⁶ “But concerning that day and hour ^(A)no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, ^(B)nor the Son,^{[a] (C)}but the Father only. ^37 (D)For as were the days of Noah, ^(E)so will be the coming of the Son of Man. ^38 (F)For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, ^(G)marrying and giving in marriage, until ^(H)the day when Noah entered the ark, ³⁹ and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, ^(I)so will be the coming of the Son of Man. ⁴⁰ Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. ^41 (J)Two women will be grinding ^(K)at the mill; one will be taken and one left. ⁴² Therefore, ^(L)stay awake, for you do not know on what day ^(M)your Lord is coming.

I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life

14 ^(A)“Let not your hearts be troubled. ^(B)Believe in God;^[a] believe also in me. ² In ^(C)my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that ^(D)I go to prepare a place for you?^{[b] 3} And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you ^(E)to myself, that ^(F)where I am you may be also.

¹⁰ And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, ^(A)two ^(B)men stood by them in ^(C)white robes, ¹¹ and said, ^(D)“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, ^(E)will ^(F)come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

³⁹ And ^(A)we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. ^(B)They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, ⁴⁰ but ^(C)God raised him on ^(D)the third day and made him to ^(E)appear, ^41 (F)not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as ^(G)witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. ⁴² And ^(H)he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify ^(I)that he is the one appointed by God to be judge ^(J)of the living and the dead.

⁵ but they will give account to him who is ready ^(A)to judge the living and the dead.
