³⁶ “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” ³⁷ And he said to him, ^(A)“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ³⁸ This is the great and first commandment. ³⁹ And ^(B)a second is like it: ^(C)You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ^40 (D)On these two commandments depend ^(E)all the Law and the Prophets.”

²⁶ If anyone thinks he is religious ^(A)and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's ^(B)religion is worthless. ²⁷ Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: ^(C)to visit ^(D)orphans and widows in their affliction, and ^(E)to keep oneself ^(F)unstained from the world.
