Matthew 21:4-6

⁴This happened, and what the prophet of God said long ago, came true.

⁵He said, `Tell the people of Zion: See, your king is coming to you. He is not proud. He rides a donkey. It is a young animal.'

⁶The disciples went and did what Jesus told them to do.

⁴^[a]All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

⁵“Tell^(A) the daughter of Zion,
‘Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”

⁶^(B)So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.

⁴This took place to fulfill^(A) what was spoken through the prophet:

⁵“Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”^[a]^(B)
