The Birth of Jesus Christ
18 Now the birth of (B)Jesus Christ[a] took place in this way. (C)When his mother Mary had been betrothed[b] to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child (D)from the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling (E)to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20 But as he considered these things, behold, (F)an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and (G)you shall call his name Jesus, (H)for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 (I)All this took place (J)to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
(which means, God (M)with us).

Micah 5:2-4
English Standard Version
2 [a] (A)But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of (B)Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be (C)ruler in Israel,
(D)whose coming forth is (E)from of old,
from ancient days.
3 Therefore he shall give them up (F)until the time
when she who is in labor has given birth;
then (G)the rest of his brothers shall return
to the people of Israel.
4 And he shall stand (H)and shepherd his flock (I)in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now (J)he shall be great
to the ends of the earth.
