¹¹ “Blessed are you when people ^(C)insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for ^(D)in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

^22 (A)And you will be hated by all because of My name, but ^(B)it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, “^(A)You were born entirely in sins, and are you teaching us?” So they ^(B)put him out.

If the World Hates You

¹⁸ “^(A)If the world hates you, ^[a]know that it has hated Me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but ^(B)I chose you out of the world, ^(C)because of this the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, ‘^(D)A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, ^(E)they will also persecute you; if they ^(F)kept My word, they will keep yours also.
