¹⁵ And wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus ^(A)scourged, he delivered Him over to be crucified.

²² And he said to them a third time, “Why, what evil has this man done? I have found in Him no guilt worthy of death; therefore I will ^(A)punish Him and release Him.”

Jesus Flogged and Rejected as King

19 Pilate then took Jesus and ^[a](A)flogged Him.

³⁷ But Paul said to them, “Having beaten us in public without trial, ^(A)men who are Romans, they have thrown us into prison. And now are they sending us away secretly? No indeed! But let them come themselves and bring us out.”
